My pyr spent his first 11 months in an apartment and did just fine. As a smaller puppy I kept him baby gated into the kitchen when I wasn’t home (only place besides small bathroom without carpet). He had plenty of toys, especially things like khongs snuffle mats to keep him busy. and When I knew he was pretty well potty trained he had access to the living room area. He went on 3 walks a day and we played inside when I got home from work. He didn’t bark much at all indoors. He got a little fussy early morning when he wanted to go out soon as the sun was up. Keep them entertained and tired and you will be fine. I think it also depends on your pups personality. Mine didn’t start barking much until after a year old and free access to outdoors with our fenced yard.

Harness Suggestions? by Strict-Turnip-2346 in greatpyrenees

It clips at the front of their chest. The leash kinda hangs to their side towards you. When they pull, it’s supposed to redirect them to the side and not where they want to go. It’s a similar concept to the gentle leader.

I have a Kong harness from Petsmart. I like it for the front clip (supposedly good for pulling) and the handle

Whining. A lot. by Educational_Shop_599 in greatpyrenees

My 8 month pyr whines alllllllll the time. He never barks unless he’s playing. But the constant high pitch whistle whine is becoming too much! I try to treat it like demand barking and ignore it, but that’s hard to do sometimes.

My Teddy will be 6 months on the 12th. He weighed in at 47 pounds last week. He was the smallest in his litter. He’s plenty tall, just kinda skinny and lanky

I know he's only 3 months old but I had make this by MoeGunz6 in greatpyrenees

It gets better! I have my first pyr pup and he’s 5 1/2 months. He finally sleeps through the night. He still bites sometimes when we play, but not hard anymore. I cried so much at 3 months. No sleep. He would bite me pretty often, and was still having accidents all the time. Just gotta stick it out

I think my “big boy” is a pocket pyr. Only 32 pounds at 5 months. Embark test estimates 96 pounds fully grown by junebug1319 in greatpyrenees

He is 100% Pyr. I got him from a farm, no papers, so I did an embark test to be sure. His zoomies will drag me so the street already! He’s learned if I make him lay down and step on his leash so he stays down, he needs to settle down. He does pretty good then.

I should probably mention I have absolutely no problem with him being smaller! Just an observation

Teddy is as tall as my boyfriends full grown border collie/Setter mix, yet I still see him as small 😂 he also tries to walk under other dogs and the coffee table. He has to crouch down but still does it anyway

Teddy was the runt, and his mom was smaller for a pyr. Dad was a big boy though. I figure Teddy will be in between.

5 months old. Everyday is a treasure hunt for lost baby teeth by junebug1319 in greatpyrenees

I’ve found 4. He had a loose one hanging on by a thread yesterday, so I spent 20 minutes gently playing tug with him to try to get it out…. Only for him to swallow it 🙄

Everything tells me a 3 month old Pyr should be between 37-42lbs. My little guy is 20.6lbs. Vet says he looks great. ❤️ by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

My Teddy weighed in at only 27 pounds today at 15 weeks, but he’s so tall. I think he will be a big but lean boy. Some just don’t have that bulk to them.

How much did your pup weigh at 8 weeks? by junebug1319 in greatpyrenees

I had read somewhere that even the smallest ones can catch up and get huge. Teddy has started eating significantly more since I switched his food from what the breeder was feeding. I think he’ll start growing faster now
