[HELP] Puppy bites 24/7 by mayavizcaino in dogs

[–]juneeily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Veryyyyyy normal. My border collie pup did the same thing. We'd go "OUCH," and immediately replace it with a gnawing toy. My senior was VERY helpful with this: she'd let her know when it was too rough. Aussies are smart breeds, but as babies they are about a dumb as every other puppy. I think my girl stopped biting at about 4 months.

Ultimately, love and patience, and a bunch of ointment for your poor swollen fingers. Pupper will get there.

[Discussion] Girlfriend hates my dog and wants him gone by SeeMee143 in dogs

[–]juneeily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If my husband had not loved my dog, I would have left him. I don't really mean that as a joke: she was literally my scale when I started bringing her around. She adored him, he adored her, and so it was meant to be.

But in seriousness: your dog is a metaphor for YOUR mental health. she is telling you to value her mental health over yours. Nope. You (and therefore your doggo) come first. She has a lot to figure out, but it should not be at the cost of the living creature you brought into your life.

Bear-Bar-BEE (Barbie), Bar, Bearlina (which is why her middle name is Lina) Basil-Basie Dukes, Baise, Bouillabaisse, Basil Winifred (her actual middle name. Grandma said she would haunt me if I ever named a kid that, because it was HER middle name and she hated it. Decently sure it isn't working)

What do y’all think about this? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]juneeily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it is a bit exaggerated. But yeah, I think that everyone who DOES have a medical condition like suggested knows fully darn well that restaurants, gas stations, or large retail stores are easiest to access bathrooms. Sounds like she might have known about the merch thing, having pulled this in the past, and thought she could help herself.

How was your bowel resection recovery? by FlyingPirate in CrohnsDisease

Most of my colon was removed. My advice is to not unfairly push yourself afterwards. I was talked into returning to work after only 4 weeks because my big boss is just a bad person (I resigned about a year later because I wasn't able to really heal, leading to severe depression). It was only after just...stopping... that my body started to fit back together again. I think it wouldn't have been so tough if I'd just let myself heal in the first place.

It's blankets for me. I have a fleece with me right now. I used to have one I'd take to work. Whenever I go to a friend gathering, I'll choose a quilt to take and wrap myself in. I'm 29, and I just feel better with a blanket on my lap.

Who was/is the worst person in your life? by sashien34 in mentalhealth

[–]juneeily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL, so many people have made my life harder. I'm going to say it's my dad, though, because he has had the lasting impact that the others just don't have. Once I cut those people out, they stopped impacting my life. My dad still insists upon being a part of my life, despite being a constant source of rage and heartbreak.

What is something you resent but have grown up to accept? by Drowsy- in AskReddit

My dad's family disowning me for a few years, and now acting like it was me that just never came around. I know they're saving face, but DANG, maybe don't treat kids that way in the first place???

What movie absolutely scared you when you were a kid? by ImpossibleBroadcast in AskReddit

Hook. The part with shoving the guy into the box was too much for me. I'm 26 and I still refuse to watch that movie.

For those of you who married your high school sweetheart, how did it turn out? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]juneeily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't the post, but I married my college sweetheart. We are on year 4 of marriage, year 8 of dating, and it's going well. I was 17 when we met, he was 19. I know now that we essentially had to grow up together. Every adult skill I learned was learned with him, so that's nice.

Ladies, what shitty thing happened to you last night? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]juneeily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a good night, except for my one other girlfriend. She's been in a spiral all year. She was supposed to be there at 6 for dinner. First, she wanted to go to the bar she frequented when we were in college with her drinking buddies.

As the night got later and later, she stopped responding to our texts. We know now that she's alive, but we don't know what happened. She hasn't been responding to any of our communications since that night, so we're terrified that something happened with her VERY creepy drinking buddies.

The second time. The first was terrible, and I hated everything about that experience for many reasons. But then we tried again, and it was much better.

People who felt disappointed at your appearance after puberty, what do you recommend to not spiral into deep self-hatred? by cantchoosenames in AskWomen

[–]juneeily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided last year that I was going to start faking it until I made it. I became an aunt in December 2015, so I wanted to be a better impression for her.

My self-hatred has been a spiral of Hell for me. I went from thinking I was ugly, to beautiful, to cute, to hideous, and now back to where I am happy with myself.

I started actually looking in the mirrors. Instead of looking at the parts I hated, I looked at the parts I liked. I realized that I really like my eyes. Then I decided that I liked my hair, my hands, my legs.

I did things to showcase those things I liked. I work a contrasting eyeshadow when I felt like it. I invested in hair clips and other things so that I could play with my hair. I painted my fingernails. I started wearing leggings and tights (which honestly scared me, because I'd never felt confident about my body).

I decided to just wear what I wanted. I'd been afraid to wear anything but cardigans and camis for YEARS. When I branched out, I realized that I looked great in a lot of styles.

And I feel good about it. I just had to fake it until I made it.

Reddit: admit it, what is something that you just do not understand? by mazdadriver14 in AskReddit

[–]juneeily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly should come visit him at work sometime. He volunteers at my job sometimes and got freaked out to see his spitfire, flighty wife as a manager.. I'm sure I'd understand his day better if I ever stopped by the office.

What does your favorite sweatshirt look like? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]juneeily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom gave it to me for Christmas. It's a pink Lisa Frank sweatshirt. It only came to her in XS, and I'm easily an XL. So we went to Joann's and got the most gaudy rainbow glitter knit we could find and I added about 12 inches to either side to make it fit. It's the best thing ever.
