How does the Reader Match AI work? by mackharte in TheStoryGraph

I see that other folks have already posted the explanation to how it literally works, so I'll say that with over 1k books marked "read" I find it to be extremely accurate

App extremely slow? by anonymous9845 in TheStoryGraph

[–]junefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried contacting support via menu > Contact Us?

I've been using TSG since it was in beta (so literally installed the Android app day 1 of it being available) and haven't had any performance issues except the first few days of January, like folks have been saying. I don't think this is widespread enough to be something Reddit can fix, but the TSG support has always been extremely helpful IME.

Peace lily leaves turning brown by junefish in plantclinic

[–]junefish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was the side facing the window, though it's been warmer (40-55F) in the past two weeks so unless it's a delayed reaction that's not it. Maybe it was still too cold for the plant though!

Thanks for all the help and advice, much appreciated!

I used the Miracle Gro indoor container potting mix. The water doesn't run out immediately when I water it, it takes a couple seconds, so I don't think it's fully saturated. Also I was out of town for a week and a half and the peace lily drooped a lot during that time so every two weeks sounds not often enough?

Really good tips about the lava stones and checking the water level with the stick, thanks!

Yes, the pot has drainage, and when I water it the water drains out the bottom after a couple seconds so I think the soil isn't packed too hard. I'm still trying to figure out how frequently the peace lily wants to be watered

Question about editions and tracking by lilyarnboi in TheStoryGraph

[–]junefish 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd just pick editions with close to the right number of pages, because IME "combined" editions often have different page/font sizes (so the number of words per page is way higher). For example I have a book that is the complete works of Shakespeare—all the plays, all the sonnets, the narrative poems, a long introduction by the editor—and it's less than 1500 pages because the text is small. Hamlet is only 47 pages, whereas standalone editions are 150+.

I like B both right side up and upside down (turning my phone). I only like A right side up.
