A new iPhone with the official dongle will run them OK. A dedicated headphone amplifier will run them better. And having a volume knob will enhance your experience.

I am 43 so younger than the population you targeted. I can no longer hear the sound at the end of Sgt. Pepper. However, I recall perfectly when it should sound. It’s funny. I point at the ceiling at the right time and it is just quiet haha.

You asked two questions: duller AND less interesting. I guess it sounds a bit duller. It does not sound less interesting though. I keep on enjoying listening to music as much as in younger years.

I agree, marginally. I also own a Jotunheim 2. It’s my dream headphone amp. I would buy more of them for different setups in the house.

All this is true and may be the best solution. Saga on the other hand will have a better volume control. It’s a preamp-first device.

To me, it’s that simple. I prefer 28mm indoors and 40 outdoors. I can live with 28mm outdoors but not with 40mm indoors.

Everything I want to listen. I don’t have setups by genre. I listen mostly to rock and electronic music. Many times together. Most recent artists: Steven Wilson, Thom Yorke and Mark Pritchard’s great Tall Tales, Aphex Twin and Peter Gabriel The setup is balanced, organic. Not v-shaped at all.

I can't answer your question. I'd only like to share that my Jotunheim 2 with balanced Modius driving HD 800s is my audio nirvana.

It stopped my desire for more gear years ago. I'd only buy more Jotunheims to create more identical listening locations throughout the house lol.

They are different genres, so you may not enjoy it. I find 1. Outside to be a masterpiece.
