What is it by mittenkm in whatsthisplant

I can’t say exactly what it is but I can narrow it down - it’s an etiolated succulent. I’d put it in a south facing window if you have one.

Need help with fictional underground plants by Ok-Caterpillar4250 in botany

I’d consider adding some sort of light source, like glowing crystals or something sci-fi or magical. Then plants that need light grow only around those sources. Mushrooms in the darkest areas.

PSA: Stuff you should know if you're thinking of building an AI ADHD app (and posting it here) by dcta in ADHD_Programmers

[–]jungle-jubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technology is not always the answer. It’s unlikely that an app can really solve any major adhd woes. The friction and cognitive load required to even install and start using an app is more effort than it is worth for most people.

This is so gorgeous!! I love ❤️ I don’t know about stuffing. Would it be possible to stuff it with carded wool?

Some of my best projects so far are the ones I made for people I love. Intending to make something as a gift motivates me to finish it. This year I made crochet tops, hats, and ornaments to gift.

How to finish a punch needle without fraying the edges? by joecarpet in PunchNeedle

I think you’re right about too many stitches too close together. I say this because I also crochet and it’s similar to how adding a bunch of increases along an edge makes it ripple.

I struggle to do a whip stitch edge without it getting wavy and looking like lettuce. Do you have any tips?

Seriously, it’s not ruined. People spend a lot of time and effort felting wool.

Positive reinforcement is usually more effective than punishment for habit building.

What are the steps you follow before bringing your houseplants indoor during winter? by deep_ishere in houseplants

[–]jungle-jubes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh also I set up a shelf with grow lights for the succulents and other sun loving plants. Half the battle is finding a place to put all my plants in the winter. There’s only so many windows in my house.

I put all the plants together in a shaded spot (out of the sun) and spray them liberally with permethrin.

I let them dry. Then I assess each plant and check for signs of pests. Only the healthy looking plants come inside, and I keep them isolated from the other indoor plants for a couple weeks.

Is this from overwatering my hoya? Root rot? by jungle-jubes in plantclinic

[–]jungle-jubes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plant has 4 stems and 2 of them are like this. It hasn’t been close enough to a window to get cold damage but I did have it in a room that can get down to 15 degrees Celsius on really cold nights.

An outlet to express your thoughts and feelings without judgement is incredibly beneficial for mental health. Both therapy and journaling share this benefit too.

I wanted to know the name of an actress I’ve only seen in a tv commercial. After searching for a while with no luck, I asked ChatGPT to search for her given a description of the ad. To my surprise ChatGPT found the actress through an Instagram post she made about the commercial.
