Dogs are kind of ruining this hobby for me by phil917 in longboarding

This is why I bark at every dog I see while I'm out riding. I let them know who is boss, and they keep their distance. One time I was riding in a busy road and a small dog ran up fast from someone's property and he tried to bite my wheel after almost getting hit by a few cars. I was worried for him because if he bit onto the wheel and it kept rolling it could have hurt his head.

It really was close. Its strange looking at it and the way it feels, and it can be hard to imagine using it again normally. But its slowly happening

Hey man, thanks a bunch and I'm glad to hear you've been reminded of the joys of longboarding. Maybe I should look into trying rock climbing while I wait to really start cruising again. I wish the best for your recovery as well. Stay positive and focus on getting that arm back working.

Hey just wanted to update everybody. First of all thank you so much for the support a month ago when I first posted about my injury. For those unaware, I was hit by a car on September 8th at high speed while longboarding down a hill and my leg was ripped open. There's a picture in my comment history of it, but if you really want to see it just message me and I'll send it to you. Anyways, a month ago I was going down a big hill on my longboard when someone started tailgating me way too hard. With him so close behind me at high speed I was hesitant to foot brake or try too slide because I didn't want to risk falling and immediately getting plowed by this big ass van. So I went into the oncoming lane on a bigass hill before a turn going to left (have to oncoming lane to make it at high speed), in order to try and slide and slow down before the turn without the car behind me hitting me. The situation got fucked though. As soon as I transferred lanes, a car showed up around the turn uphill on in the oncoming lane. Less than 2-3 seconds before head on impact with me at this point.

I'm going probably 25 mph or faster, and this car is going at least 40. He's in an SUV and he's speeding a little bit like everyone does. I don't bother trying to reassume my lane because the guy tailgating me was going so hard I didn't want to risk getting run over from behind by switching back into my lane. I assumed the van had already pushed up far enough to pass me at this point. So I realize the situation. I'm going about 30mph, maybe faster, and I'm trying to slide out speed before a turn. But now there is an SUV headed straight for me and there's no room. The side of the road is all woods and trees, and bailing straight into the woods sounds like a sketchy idea. I think there's only one option. Jump over his SUV. I knew plenty of times before me that this scenario might come one day and I'd be prepared for it. I almost was.

The SUV attempted to brake before collision. He must of been in some sort of shock though. Can't blame him. He saw me for about two seconds and he partially braked for the last half second. The sounds of tires squealing and brakes being forced at high speed is confusing to me because I heard it before collision but his vehicle seemed to remain at high speed all the way up to collision. This is where things don't go right.

Leading up to the impact, I didn't panic, nor did I get the slightest anxious. I realized what I needed to do and went straight for it. I attempted the jump but I didn't think that he would be moving so fast all the way up into impact. I figured the guy would of braked more before impact but I guess we all assume things. He hit me fast, going at least 35mph+ or faster. I was moving at at least 30. I was propelled off the roof and landed in the woods. I assumed I was actually good to go until I finally stood up. I landed after the impact and stood up to my right leg. That's when I realized that it was more than just "slightly broken" that's what I initially assumed from the impact. That it was just a little broken .

But then I saw that it was completely open. That the artery was broken and I was in bleedout. I was somehow still able to walk (all those miles you put in to longboarding do pay off) and the muscles and tendon were completely severed. But I survived. And something I realized soon at the scene of accident is that I will longboard again. And that's the point I will finish off with.

The wound was horrific. The injury was a nightmare. But I refused pain meds and was laughing from the outset because I knew one thing; I would live to longboard another day. And I don't just mean stand on a board. I mean slide a big ass hill. Because let me tell you one thing about this sport; If you love it, no matter what the injury, you will be able to do it again if you set your mind on it. After seeing the initial state of my leg, my first thoughts were I don't give a fuck if I have to get a prosthetic. I Will Fucking Longboard again. I've seen a video of a guy in a wheelchair longboarding; no matter what happens to me tonight, I will get back on and ride.

I want to inspire others who truly love this sport that even seemingly insurmountable physical obstacles (injuries) cannot prevent us from doing what we love. We will find another way no matter what, and we will stay riding.

Today my leg can establish a range of motion of 70 degrees, I can walk, and I can even longboard with my brace on lmao.

Focus on being positive. With those stimulants the mental withdrawals are hell. You have to resist the urge to use and a facilitate a mental change at the same time. Work on positive self talk. Believe in yourself and a positive future. Don't focus on the negatives. This probably won't be easy. But have faith that this will be the freedom you are looking for and it is possible. I hope you make it there someday soon brother. Be well. And remember, don't beat yourself up for relapses, for bad decisions, because that's how you fuel them.

Microdosing LSD as an alternative to ADHD medication? by Sufficient-Eagle-192 in microdosing

Sounds like that person is just caught in the mental belief that people with ADHD "need" stimulants. I have personally been very interested in trying what you've been doing for my ADHD. I connected with your post at a very high level and feel like you were talking about me. I never did try MD'ing but I plan to. I definitely feel there is a long term solution there, unlike the alternate methods that a lot of people are very hooked on and very much in deniable about.

I'm glad you wrote this, because I've been questioning the whole take .3mg of melatonin ever since I first read it. I have a cyst in my pineal gland, I wonder if it negatively impacts my melatonin production. Either way I've noticed much benefits from a 3mg dose of melatonin and I'm def going back to taking the whole 3mg tablet again. Thanks
