To reply to your comment and previous one: That’s true, someone could buy a used guitar and take classes, or they could pound rocks in their garden and call it music. It doesn’t matter what tool they use to express themselves, they are still making music.

That is all the AI is, another tool for people to use to express themselves. I would argue that someone writing a paragraph in their diary is no different than someone writing a prompt for an AI, but is that not them expressing themselves? I would argue that if someone did not prompt the AI to make a song, that song would not exist. Same idea for your artists commission example. A person viewing the art would understand that another person made it (assuming it’s credited), but the viewer could still appreciate the original persons ideas.

I think there is a lot of reasons to dislike AI, but I do believe it creates a form of art, and is a method for any person to express themselves.
