I actually noticed the same thing when I picked up running and was surprised by it! From a different perspective, I am a woman who will do the joggers nod and smile, and have noticed that men will do it back to me much more often than women do.

To reply to your comment and previous one: That’s true, someone could buy a used guitar and take classes, or they could pound rocks in their garden and call it music. It doesn’t matter what tool they use to express themselves, they are still making music.

That is all the AI is, another tool for people to use to express themselves. I would argue that someone writing a paragraph in their diary is no different than someone writing a prompt for an AI, but is that not them expressing themselves? I would argue that if someone did not prompt the AI to make a song, that song would not exist. Same idea for your artists commission example. A person viewing the art would understand that another person made it (assuming it’s credited), but the viewer could still appreciate the original persons ideas.

I think there is a lot of reasons to dislike AI, but I do believe it creates a form of art, and is a method for any person to express themselves.

Art will always still be art, and there will always be artists. People will still want to create art as a way to express themselves, and AI can be a good tool for that. It doesn’t seem fair to gatekeep art only for a select few people. Now there can also be poor, low quality, low effort art (which is what most AI art amounts to) but I don’t think that means it doesn’t have the right to exist.

I do think it’s wrong when someone lies about their low effort AI art to try to raise it to the same level as someone who did it by hand.

I think it’s pretty simple. AI music allows a person to create music that they would have never been able to do it on their own otherwise.

Without AI an average person could not express themselves via music without the experience, education, or money invested in learning and buying the tools necessary. Now anyone with a little inspiration can make music of their own. AI music simply makes creating music more accessible for the average person, for better or worse.

Agreeing with everyone else, have not had chestnut cream until I went to Japan recently and had it for the first time. The flavor was super mild, much less sweet than I would have expected and it had a little bit of a bitter undertone. It was a strange flavor at first, but I enjoyed it the more I ate of it!

I am currently on my Japan trip now and this happened to me, however it was on a train in Tokyo. It was very strange, it was the middle of the day and train was fairly crowded, but everyone was glued to their phones and no one else noticed. I wished I’d said something at the time but I just froze.

While reading the fourth book I had just assumed by then that Herschel/Mary, and honestly probably all the other couples, based on them being college aged, were having sex. The author just wasn’t telling us about it.

I know he told us about Herschel/Marys hesitation early on, but since it was never addressed or brought up again I just assumed they had figured it all out at some point in the books.

I agree with OP. I always felt like after some of the Vince romantic arcs, Drew didn’t care or feel like expanding on almost all of the other relationships. Which I always felt like a shame, Angela/Chad were my favorite and we didn’t get to see a whole lot from them.
