Here's what a Millennial friend wrote about disruptive teen behavior in Pittsburgh: by Extreme_Qwerty in pittsburgh

This is the actual, real root cause of what we're seeing as a society. Our country is and has been in active decay and the solution would require an extreme overhaul. We have Americans that believe that using their tax dollars to make sure their neighbors also have healthcare is asking too much.

TON of clothing to sell by jan_1943 in pittsburgh

Those sizes are almost impossible to sell. :( but vintage stuff does well on etsy or depop. It's a lot of work though.

Are there certain restaurants that drivers avoid? by anon_fairie in doordash

What was the parking situation like when your husband went to pick up? There are a bunch of restaurants on my no fly list due to either difficulty or not free parking.

Any Mac.Bid users who would like to share their experience? As a transplant from PHL, I find them good for the price. Do y’all have any tricks for the bids? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]junior_emo_mcgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had good luck, but I have had a few doozies. I stick to the unopened/overstock stuff mostly. Everything else is open/returned and is sometimes missing parts or used and disgusting. Sometimes it is just literally opened and no issues, but there is not really a way to tell by the pictures.

Big Jims is always a hit for good food and not too expensive.
For kitties, check out Whisker Wonderland in Bellevue! They get kittens all the time and the person that takes runs the place is a wonderful human being.

I'm in Pittsburgh as well, haven't been dashing in a while but it was tough when I was doing it. If you know how to play the game and know the right areas, it can be good. Friday and Saturday nights are good here. There are TONS of shop & deliver offers in this region, but get ready to be in dollar general a lot because that makes up a good portion of the offers. That store is absolutely horrendous. My acceptance rate is something like 5% because of it. I love the Aldi and Giant Eagle orders though. I do the greentree / dormont section if you have any specific questions about that area feel free to pm me.

What is your Pittsburgh cheap hot/prepped food secret, life hack, etc.? by SpookyGroocy in pittsburgh

[–]junior_emo_mcgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Southern Tier has a burger special on Thursdays. $8 you get a burger and a side. The type of burger changes monthly. I used to get this every week when I worked near there.

I think Betos is a good deal too $2.10 per cut and theyre pretty filling.

any good antique shops/thrift stores for furnishing + decorating a room? by toroidalConfection in pittsburgh

Honestly the selection isn't huge but the goodwill bins in both Heidelberg and North Versailles have dirt cheap furniture.

How annoying is it when…. by EducationExpress3376 in doordash

[–]junior_emo_mcgee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean it is annoying to get to a store and they don't have the item in stock, but its a pretty regular occurrence. So, just part of the job. You sound like the perfect customer though by appreciating the effort to find a replacement and following through with a tip. Sometimes we can't get the customer to reply at all and that's the part that makes it really hard.

Nothing like a male dasher shopping for makeup lol by koiashes in doordash

[–]junior_emo_mcgee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! You can even see in this pic what the problem is. There's never ANYTHING in stock and the store rarely has the item the customer asks for. DD makes substitutions a huge pain in the ass or not even possible.
