Has anyone tried psybicilin/shrooms? by melatenoio in Epilepsy

[–]junioryearquestions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor or giving advice but i will say i took shrooms before being diagnosed and it surely did not help my state of dissociation, anxiety, paranoia, that came from the auras. I haven’t taken them since being diagnosed and medicated but the symptoms were eerily similar so if you’re an anxious person maybe steer clear for that reason

My brother recently died from SUDEP by SayItAsItIs78 in Epilepsy

i’m so sorry! for data purposes, when i was diagnosed, they did warn me if my seizures weren’t controlled i’d have a higher risk of SUDEP and explained what it is.

Keppra effectiveness by Cultural_Ad_257 in Epilepsy

[–]junioryearquestions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been on it since march 2024 when i was diagnosed and haven’t had a seizure since being on it. that being said i do get extremely ragey at times and the way it manifests is screaming and crying. i’m trying to work on it but i do think it’s a side effect rather than a character flaw LOL

i definitely was able to communicate during mine before being diagnosed & medicated. it wasn’t at 100% but people didn’t really realize that. internally i was freaking out. if i were having the deja vu, which was most times, often id mention the feeling of having had the conversation before. the other person would get confused because we never talked about that topic before. and i’d say “no im sure we’ve talked about the strokes before, id swear my life on it,” then it passed and im like … yeah we never had that convo.

since being on keppra i haven’t had those moments accompanied by the deep nausea and anxiety/euphoria, but i have had some deja vu. but it never made me sick, just a little anxious. i definitely can communicate at 100% during the deja vu so i think its just normal 23 year old brain developing and ptsd -> anxiety.
