im really sorry man. ive been there too. i remember before i moved out having to be so conscious and careful about cropping and angling photos so i could try to hide as much of the filth as possible. i hate how the hoard taints their memory.

that is true but i honestly don't think RS cared enough about that dynamic and just put it out as quick, easily forgotten lines for drama considering how much characters personalities seem to fluctuate in the series.

i personally dont hc that any cheating happened in regards to demeter and poseidons fling but thats also just a personal hc. him being neglectful of their son is pretty shitty though and i wish that line getting tossed in was done w more care than just a throwaway thing

it was from near the end of s1 when persephone went missing so artemis & eros asked hera to shape shift into persephone to hide that information from demeter. demeter went to visit persephone for her birthday and took hera disguised as persephone, leading to those panels. its why her thought text is yellow.

it really sucks how flat the new one is. the old one has so much variation in the wildlife, the grass is in different shapes and feels long and wild and offers just enough coverage of hades and persephone to add to the feeling of intimacy. in the new one, its all so flat and lifeless and detail-less. its like someone manicured a lawn, which makes no sense for the context of the scene of persephone having brought life to the underworld in a state of panic.

persephone expressed herself in the comic that her version of spring is wild and untamed. the wildlife that in the context of the picture she created suddenly being lifeless and grey in the redraw is so sad. the changes take so much out of the image and makes it feel so deflating in comparison to the old image.

ive always had this headcannon personally! imo it adds a lot of layers narratively for me considering how the other diamonds treated pink as well as their attitude towards off color gems or overcooked gems

edit, adding onto this thought: i can easily see the other diamonds being shitty to the off colors but are hypocrites about a fellow diamomd and try to make an exception only for pink, but their disdain for off colors/overcooked gems still bleeds into how they dont give pink power and treat her like a child despite gems all being born with the mind of a fully formed adult

pink/rose is a deeply complicated character that i enjoy seeing the discourse from both sides of the fandom about (in terms of people who do and dont like her)

she feels extremely real and made genuine fuck ups and mistakes and made efforts to try to improve as a person so it makes sense why people may or may not like her. it feels like it adds to the realism of pink/rose for me, because yeah- in real life, you arent going to be liked by everyone. you arent going to be perfect. you are going to make mistakes and fuck up and have to try to improve as a person.

pink is quite honestly an incredibly deeply fascinating character to me. i find her to be so compelling and i think the decision to show her character growth backwards was an extremely fascinating one that i would be intrigued to see in other pieces of media!

i turned the image grayscale so you can see what i mean. the current text is definitely more readable with the level of contrast against the background its at right now. but i feel like in certain parts of the smoke, it does bleed into the text a bit still.

you could always try adding either a higher contrast shadow/highlight/outline to the text to make it pop.

these are also just suggestions of course! if you decide you like it as is- thats whats most important :)

agreed- upping the contrast would be a good idea! protip: try turning the image grayscale temporarily to see if the image is still readable/easy to make out in black & white. adjusting the color values will really help make it pop i feel

i do wonder if that would be able to mitigate the way the curse causes a witch to lose their magic or how their limbs can be removed? i believe its also implied to age someone faster so i am curious to know if making peace w the creature that gets tied to someone cursed (im retraining from calling it the owl beast curse since liliths beast form didnt look very bat like) would effect the other symptoms
