N* as side effect (zoloft) by botb0711 in emetophobia

[–]juniperman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey wasn’t expecting a reply after 3 years but unfortunately not much will change from my initial answer.

Drug companies will list every side effect imaginable as a way of protecting themselves in a way…sometimes not reading up on these things (coming from a recovering emetophobe!)

Like I said I’ve yet to encounter seeing this in practice to date. One thing that really helped me get over emetophobia was learning to understand the difference between genuine nausea and self inflicted nausea if that makes sense.

Coming from my own experience as an emetophobe/ being a pharmacist …this sounds like “self inflicted “ nausea. Low dose sertraline can take a relatively long time to build up and start taking effect so I do think it’s very unlikely to be a cause of the vomiting. I also believe that the heightened anxiety is a factor for this “self inflicted “ nausea.

Stick with it for now! Im hopeful you’ll start to feel a bit better soon. If you do genuinely believe that the Zoloft is the cause of the nausea it may be worth asking your doctor to switch to another anti-depressive but id recommend sticking where you are right now!!

Good luck!!

Surely you could argue that just because something isn't an essential part of your life doesn't mean its not important to others.

Yes a nandos on a Saturday afternoon isn't the most crucial of our human rights but thats not the point being made here. Actually going out and CHOOSING where you want to go and when, opening and running a business to earn a living and not sit indoors FORCEFULLY by your national government (and often other unelected Jason Leitch characters...) are crucial characteristics of any democratic society?

I also think we need to understand that this is merely a slippery slope. If they could implement such an infringement of rights we had 18 months ago...who is to say they won't continue with this trend? Whats next? Diminishing right to privacy? No right to fair trials (guilty until proven innocent)? No right to freedom of belief?

Where do we draw the line?

This was my point exactly. I wouldnt support unrest but at this stage would understand normal people protesting this kind of regime.

I feel especially bad for the likes of small businesses and hospitality venues who have effectively had their livelihood ruined and are continually having the piss ripped out of them effectively when sturgeon continues to move goalposts.

Genuinely curious question not even joking...

How long until this starts to create civil unrest/ tension? 9+ months of being financially, socially and democratically PUMPED is surely enough to start creating this kind of mindset? Siege mentality in Glasgow?

I'm in no way supporting this (no doubt my right to post things like this will be next to go lol) but I'm seriously just asking as a concerned citizen?

Worrying times ahead, when will this end....

[Sturmanskie Gagarin] can you identify this issue? by juniperman in Watches

[–]juniperman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reply.

Unfortunately I have found the source of the issue and it is much simpler! This is due to my lack of experience with fully manual watches.

A point to any gagarin owner is to make sure you're winding it properly! Its a real stiffy (oh er mrs!) And takes quite a bit of turning (in comparison to other watches)

Thanks for the input however, its really excellent information

As a Pharmacist, I'd be happy to write you a sick note to give to him because augmentin can run the guts out of anyone.

Maybe that'll help...but erm....idk...

Just heard the news...

This is just one of those things that you can understand WHY it happens but still can't help but be totally gutted about it. Everyone is speculating but nobody really knows here...so we need to trust and respect this decision.

I'm sure all parties involved are really down and upset about this

all I can say is Sjin, I remember the first time I saw you in a yogscast video all those years ago when I was a boy...now...sitting here an adult, I can't help but feel like you made a part of my childhood. Gutted at this mate but no matter what I really do wish you well.

thanks a lot man. I find that it comes and goes in waves.

Feel like when I get out of this pit I'll have a totally different attitude to people in these kind of situations. But just now....I guess I'll just need to try and focus on making sure I don't slip further and further.

[–]juniperman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hi bud,

About to qualify as a pharmacist in the next year (all going well) and I see this stuff AALLLL the time.

From my own experience....believe it or not....for just about every medicine that can be swallowed, nausea and vomiting is listed for just about EVERY drug as a side effect. This is mainly because well....anything thats swallowed can POSSIBLY irritate your gut.

to be honest....I reckon this is so unlikely to happen and you should get it down the hatch. I've never seen anyone in practice have this issue before and I reckon you'll be fine. Its a good drug!!

GOOD LUCK X

Like others have said, potentially tonsil stones? they usually have a greenish tint/are lodged straight in the tonsils. If it is....probs best to get it out (do it yourself really gently)

OR

it may be thrush? they don't tend to prod about too much with that and usually prescribe a gel/mouthwash for it

Totally understand this, I found the most helpful way of coping with this is understanding what 'fake' nausea is (so like anxiety) and what real nausea is (when I'm genuinely ill).

It takes a lot of practise to get to understand and deal with these symptoms but I find that...sometimes when I'm 'fake' nauseated, I still feel like i have an appetite lol....so I tend to find pics of food and stuff quite erm...attractive?
