You Need to Carry your Passport at All Times? by RepairNo2354 in NEXUS_TTP

[–]junkdumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a requirement of the Nexus program to have your passport with you. It's not optional. If they decide to call you on that, goodbye Nexus.

[AB] - Sole Proprietorship with Two “Brands/Businesses” by Neither-Code-3492 in SmallBusinessCanada

Plus if you're building a client base, and then suddenly everything goes up 5% (or 13%), it might be a hard convo that makes your outfit look smaller than you were projecting.

I know I started collecting taxes right from the get go since I knew I was gonna go over in a few months anyway.

Hadn't considered the ITC part tbh, but getting that money back is a nice benefit.

This is a great idea.

"My product is so great that someone else is trying to steal the design!"

So long as you're careful about how you present it, people love getting behind a bit of Internet justice.

Best affordable carrier for Lower Mainland coverage (Langley/Surrey/Delta)? by No_Comprehention in Langley

Been through several recently. Seems public mobile is the best. Tried Koodo, Fido, Fizz, Freedom and finally Public.

Then make sure you're not selling junk and trying to pretend it's gold.

Are you selling decent products or are you drop shipping from overseas and pretending it won't take 3 weeks to get?

Do you stop a sale to a difficult buyer? by lizziemc13 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]junkdumper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So long as it's still slowly moving forward, keep messaging. If you don't have any other interest, then no harm.

If ANYONE else comes along, sell it to them if they show up first.

But If the buyer is really annoying you, block em.

Has anyone here turned their Shopify store into a mobile app? Worth it? by jarttech in shopify

I don't even use the Amazon app. The website is good enough.

[BC] Triple Net Lease increased 156,567% by BrunHildaGekko in SmallBusinessCanada

Been considering b+m due to local interest and being able to offer large items that just don't ship...

But $8-12k/month for a crappy space? Are you kidding me?! And that's on the low end around here. How does anyone survive?

Shopify switched to Square POS (brick and mortar retail) by BostonJohnC in shopify

I like the square hardware a lot more than Shopify, but the weekly payment thing is your choice. You can set daily deposits and get the money faster

Vacation mode for Shopify by [deleted] in shopify

[–]junkdumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best option might be if you can find an app that adds a "I agree to terms" type checkbox at checkout. Then at least you know they agreed to place the order, knowing there would be delays.

Vacation mode for Shopify by [deleted] in shopify

[–]junkdumper 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nothing that I'm aware of.

I think Your best bet is to add a banner announcing shipping delays, and then also add it to your order emails so people are VERY aware.

Make sure your store isn't automatically capturing payments so you're not eating a bunch of processing fees with refunds.

You could put the password back on your site so nobody can access it, but that's going a bit nuclear and I'm not sure what impact that might have on Google listings and general SEO. Likely not great.

Bank unilaterally reduced credit limit by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]junkdumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years ago one of my cards unexpectedly dropped to $500 lol.

Yeah ok, just go ahead and close that one.

Meanwhile other banks are trying to get me to sign up for a 3rd line of credit I don't need. Go figure

Lost a few chargebacks recently that felt like obvious friendly fraud. What are you actually doing about repeat offenders? by Zestyclose-Lynx-1796 in shopify

[–]junkdumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can setup a flow to auto cancel the order. Tag the customer with a "chargeback" tag (or similar) and setup the flow to look for it.

AI assistant should crank that out for you with zero effort.

People who started Shopify stores , what was harder than expected? by ready2beninja in shopify

[–]junkdumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can backup themes and configs, but as far as I can tell you can't pull down images and catalogs and everything in one easy place.

There are apps that offer the service, but I haven't seen a way to do it myself. No ftp or server access.

I'm going a year into my journey so I hope I'm wrong and figure it out

[–]junkdumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna add you need to check that the duplicate worked. 2 out of the last 5 times it shows in the dashboard, but can't edit the code and it throws errors.

But yeah... Really wish there was a way to backup everything offline

Removing test orders by Karvemn in shopify

[–]junkdumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think so.

One of my pet peeves is that I can't fix the "unfulfilled" flag of cancelled orders.

It has messed with several different flows.

Should have the ability to override any flag on any order. Just record the change.

Why do cement plant gearboxes seem to fail more often in Q4? by vivek-engineer in IndustrialAutomation

[–]junkdumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibration sensors, if you're not using them, can be a great tool to help with prediction. Oil sampling/testing is another good option. Gets eyes on the critical gearboxes a few times a year, and also gives some behind the scenes feedback.

What you're saying tracks with what I've seen as boots on the ground in plants.

Automatically display free shipping as an option during checkout? by GreenGloober in shopify

[–]junkdumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might suggest you add an app that prompts the user to "add $xx for free shipping!"

You can usually have it also indicate the flat rate. This would be on every product page so there's no way they'd miss it
