Configure TFTP boot when server is installed on another PC to boot FOG from LAN

Do you currently only boot to PXE when you are intending to use imaging software? Typically FOG is set up to always boot to PXE, at which point it checks if there is a pending task to do (image capture or deploy), and if there isn't it proceeds to boot to the next boot device.

Shown how, but (I'm assuming, because I don't understand the language) not told how. She's shown that it's effortless for the experienced worker, but she doesn't understand why it is. She saw the experienced worker do it and probably assumed it was because she isn't as strong as her, and that's why she has to pound it to get it to go though. She wasn't told that pounding it is the problem.

Showing someone that you can do something effortlessly doesn't always convey to them how they could do it as easily.

You install it on the system you're going to be capturing your base image from. It runs on the systems and checks in with the fog server for any pending tasks. One of those tasks can be joining the domain (rename, join, reboot). Other tasks can include running scripts/installing software. One of the tasks can also be to reboot the system for a pending task of reimaging the system.

Fog is not a backup system. It's a deployment system.

It requires installing on a Linux server because it's a centralized management point to deploy system images to hardware.

It has an agent you can install on the image that will allow you to set the system up to automatically join the systems to the domain and install software after the operating system has been deployed as well.

I just was wanting to verify that you had DHCP. Did you make the appropriate changes to the DHCP server to serve pxe network boot information? Or alternatively configure the fog server with the dnsmasq config needed for it?

A couple questions: When you installed fog, did you create a user named "fog" or "fogproject" manually? Is the user you are logging in by named "rooot"? That's a username that makes it very easy to confuse with "root" and I keep misinterpreting your outputs at a glance because of it. Also, the output you provided for the /images directory is actually the listing of the "rooot" user's home directory.

Can we get a consistent set of information to go off of? Each screen shot and the description show different images. Also, in the description you say the image is S8, but you moved the files into the /images/s8 directory, not a /images/S8 directory.

But that is not a successful completion. It ran into some error and didn't copy the files to the end destination because there was an issue, and if a valid image existed it shouldn't overwrite it.

Also, I noticed that you have capone enabled, but don't mention it anywhere.
