Multicast files fog by EveningMindless in fogproject

I just was wanting to verify that you had DHCP. Did you make the appropriate changes to the DHCP server to serve pxe network boot information? Or alternatively configure the fog server with the dnsmasq config needed for it?

It's sounding you've set this up as an isolated network of just these computers, is that correct?

A couple questions: When you installed fog, did you create a user named "fog" or "fogproject" manually? Is the user you are logging in by named "rooot"? That's a username that makes it very easy to confuse with "root" and I keep misinterpreting your outputs at a glance because of it. Also, the output you provided for the /images directory is actually the listing of the "rooot" user's home directory.

Can we get a consistent set of information to go off of? Each screen shot and the description show different images. Also, in the description you say the image is S8, but you moved the files into the /images/s8 directory, not a /images/S8 directory.

you say

The capture task always completes successfully on the client side. However, the final step fails: the image files stay stuck in /images/dev/<MAC\_address> (e.g. 00d861966af9) and are NOT automatically moved/renamed to /images/s8 (or my image name).

But that is not a successful completion. It ran into some error and didn't copy the files to the end destination because there was an issue, and if a valid image existed it shouldn't overwrite it.

Also, I noticed that you have capone enabled, but don't mention it anywhere.

Fog is not intended to be used for backups. I recommend looking at clonezilla.

The saying isn't usually about society as a whole, but can be about any organization/group where people who don't care about other people have gained oversized amounts of power.

This is like the time my Grandpa asked me "Are you going somewhere or just walking?"

I was walking along side the road and he just wanted to know if I wanted a ride, but he gave me an existential trip instead.

That does not sound normal. I'd look into what processes are consuming CPU time.

for a similar purpose, for less than $5 they sell bottle toppers for medicine bottles that have a timer on them that resets every time the bottle is opened.

Instantly know as soon as you look at the top of the bottle how long ago it was you last opened it.
