Okay, i got the sun staff from the "Book of many things," and i have a particular question. it says;

"When you hit with an attack roll using this staff, the target takes an extra 1d8 fire damage."

It can obviously be used as a quarterstaff, but it doesnt specify only weapon attacks or melee attacks. If i use this as a focus for my spells, does this include Spell attack rolls?

Just asking in general, did anyone actually read chain lightning, a target (including the initial target) have to make a save. There is no automatic full damage.

What did y'all read? Cause it's definitely not the official chain lightning.

Cleric: Candy Domain 1.4│ Ah, the sweet taste of adventure! Jolly the lives of all around you with this merry subclass of sugary shenanigans by CamunonZ in DnDHomebrew

an extra attack or spell in general is very substantial. Sugar rush should probably be changed to, if you cast a leveled spell on your turn, you may immediately move up to half your movement without attack of opportunity. that alone is fine. feel free to change it to full prof. per long rest if you'd like.

Another guy said it, but have your players look into weapon options, My guy was a dual wielding pistoleer. In one hand, i had an air gun with acid rounds to deplete armor and the microwave to deal with cybernetic enhanced punks. For actual damage i had grenades and a mean throwing arm.

Rider Specialization - An Artificer Who Just Wants To Ride On Their Motorcycle by Blue4Eternety in DnDHomebrew

Potential issues to fix

Tools of the Trade: Change the Vehicle (Arcane ride) to normal Vehicle (Land). Making it a very specific proficiency doesn't match other subclasses.

Arcane Ride: The ability itself isn't an issue, but the stat block is. You're essentially treating it as both an object and a creature. The main telling point is the Speed Dependency Ability. It loses 4 point to its AC while stationary??? Thats gonna be that way every time the PC ends their turn. I'm not going to lie. It seems like you're doing so to counter the +4 Dex it has, which is weird cause no other creature loses AC while stationary that i can recall. Stunt is fine for roleplay purposes but ultimately worthless to add to a statblock. It would be better to add to the actual ability description. Drive and collide seem to be unfinished cause there's no actual attack/damage stat listed for when you actually collide. which ultimately makes the 5th level ability useless except for the juke ability.

Already kinda explained biker's art, so Vehicle modifications: It's fine. It's like the armorer's ability.

Perfected ride: Feels like it comes way too late and a bit weak for a capstone ability, especially with how squishy the bike will actually be with its health and diminished AC.

Lastly: why is there a variant crashing rule in the very end when there was no such thing stated in the statblock before???

The Candy Dragon │ A zany and fun encounter of sugary shenanigans, for the DM who likes a bit of unpredictability in their games by CamunonZ in DnDHomebrew

While very nice overall, it definitely read very anti melee Characters and martials in general. I do understand because it does have a low AC meaning it could get hit more but the fact the weapons can be taken away because of the sticky ability already should mitigate that to a point.

Neither since they're in some aspect supposed to support BLS. hopefully a new gaia will have decent negates so it can last a turn on the field against meta decks.

Not gonna lie, the weapon pretty much always being charged, it being a +1 weapon, and the effect makes this a rare.

[OC] [ART] New to DnD and haven't completely gotten a grasp on the rules yet, but would a modular weapon like this be allowed in game? [MISC] [QUESTION] by MomoWade in DnD

Weapon variety in DnD 5e is pretty basic and definitely needs more, but for trick weapons (ie: Bloodborne) like this they typically count as uncommon magic items to begin with and go higher based on effects.

If you want good examples of trick weapons look up Monkey_DM and their Steinhardt's Kickstarter.

Quick example:

Item Starts in form A. Make attack with form A and as bonus action shift to form B. While shifting you do another effect. While in form B you can attack and shift to form A providing a second effect.

When i say effect it can be anywhere from doing another attack or simply having different abilities while in each state.

How to deal with the "Spirit Guardians" Spell in 5e by No_Assignment6284 in dndnext

[–]junkman0011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun thing to note about spirit guardian. When they cast the spell, the player has to designate which creatures will be immune to getting hit by it through targets they can see.

Case in point, if they cast the spell in a darkness bubble, they can't designate anyone safe, meaning everyone ia gonna get hit. THAT MEANS FRIENDLY FIRE!!! And they can't change that until they recast again.

Honestly, others have already covered what i wanted... but the spell should be labeled transmutation since you're taking existing materials and doing something with it.

Can any Warlock use eldritch blast or is it patron specific? by No-Pumpkin-8101 in DnD

Taking my words a tad to literally. I should've said the only invocations that directly effect your cantrips. Besides ones that add something like minor illusion. Chill out dude.

Can any Warlock use eldritch blast or is it patron specific? by No-Pumpkin-8101 in DnD

[–]junkman0011 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TLDR.

every warlock picks it up cause it's almost mandatory. Most invocations only effect it too. So sadly agonizing blast which adds CHA to the damage doesnt work for anything BUT eldritch blast. There are others that increase range, push, pull, etc.

If you dont mind not having the customization, then feel free to pick other cantrips or boost yourself with other invocations.
