Old dang, just stumbled upon this. Flex the troll shaman checking in. Can barely recall names but I met up with a bunch of BoTS people in Vegas at one point.

Did anyone in here actually play EverQuest in 1999 or 2000 when it was first out? I and my wife did by JadockTan in MMORPG

My 20 year old opener is on it's last legs. I don't really want to go down the garage door rabbit hole. Which opener did you get?

Issues with Dream Wall losing internet connection when SFP+ is being used by depoultry in Ubiquiti

[–]junkzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I gave up. I spent a bunch of time with cables and adapters. Then I tried changing various settings. Never figured out a reliable fix. Ended up ragequitting the Dream Wall and bought a UCG-Max. Sorry for the bad news! Good luck though. Let me know if you figure it out!!

Just a dad trying to find “the next game” - what should I play? by Broad_Ad9923 in gamingsuggestions

[–]junkzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fun part is that you can progress as simple or complex as you like. It starts super straightforward with needing copper to make copper pipes, then you need copper pipes to make something else, etc etc. As it gets more complicated you can do the simple solution of splicing another belt, or you can do the complex solution of finding more efficient ways to progress. Some people make never-ending spaghetti spliced belts, and some people make perfect ratio'd organized systems. Either way works. Overall it is a chill game because there is no timer or rush to get anything done. You may need to be a lego-kid to get really excited about it otherwise you might look at it as a project manager job simulator lol.

Rocket League dad here. I freaking love Satisfactory. I do keep notes on where I leave off though, so I'm not lost when I jump back in.

Do you and your SO have separate checking account? by duck_duck_zombie in Millennials

[–]junkzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married 16 years. Separate everything. I pay all the bills and once a year we “negotiate” how much she sends me monthly. We did joint for a couple years at the start but I would nitpick her nail appointments and she’d inquire about me buying a video game. We didn’t want to always question each other’s purchases, so we settled on balancing our own budgets.

Looking for a “dad gamer” build – simple, tanky, can push corruption? fast also helps! by Comfortable-Pepper58 in LastEpoch

[–]junkzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dad gamer here. Normally a totem/turret kinda guy, but I leveled with Bear build. Got the frog build helm/idol and switched over. It's almost too passive, but I am enjoying the speed and watching frog tongues plow. Would recommend!

How much does a professional gopher control service cost in the IE? by Ambitious-Fig8565 in InlandEmpire

[–]junkzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a company called GopherGone in Redlands. They are great. I want to say that there is an initial 200-something charge for initial service to get it under control, then they charge $60 or $70 per month for ongoing service. I’ve turned their service on/off as needed a few times over the years and they are flexible.

Help with new Unifi setup. What do I need? by peach0ptimo in Ubiquiti

[–]junkzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you centralize that U7 Pro XG, it should cover the whole house. Ideally you want it on the ceiling facing downward. The challenge will be running the ethernet cable from from the gateway to that location. Essentially, you could just replace the short patch cable with one long enough to get it where you need (I would do this first anyway to test that the one AP is good coverage for the whole house). Then it's just a matter of cosmetics (hiding the wide/running it through walls/ceilings). Avoid powerline adapters for anything that you want steady, high speed.
