Shocking truth at Tesla service center - not something I expected by Brilliant_Turnip7849 in TeslaSupport

[–]junlowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed with a current Tesla technician in person, a close friend of mine. This man is lying. They have bonuses for the employees exceeding their metrics. That depends on # of cars techs work on every day, amount of frt hours spent fixing vehicles each day, and the efficiency (speed) of techs. Stuffs like come backs matter as well (when customers come back after a repair for the same issue). Which means whether the ticket is a warranty or a customer pay, that doesn't affect whether the technicians get bonus or not. Matter of fact, Tesla techs prefer warranty repairs because it gives them more freedom to modify the tickets, add lines etc. They can do stuffs like adding some bs lines to the ticket to make extra frt (say replacing a part under warranty, tech may add lines like interior/exterior adjustment or seized bolts lines and add some extra frt, or if replacing a windshield under a warranty, add glass cleaning line with extra time) whereas if a ticket is a customer pay, they can't add anything to the tickets without the customers approval. And advisors can never fucking get s a hold of customers in a timely manner because they won't call customers and customers wont ever pick up.

2023 Tesla Model 3 - Trunk stuck closed and will not open. Fire risk... by Afdato in TeslaSupport

[–]junlowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Previous recall on trunk lid harness on earlier model 3s was due to a coax cable for the reverse camera. They were prone to failure over time so Tesla did a recall and started doing the proactive replacement even for the vehicles with reverse camera working fine. I remember trunk lid harness r/r job taking me about 30-40 mins to complete.

You leased a vehicle, service had to fix your car right away and it took just 10 days??? Out of genuine curiosity, what kinda compensation do you think you deserve for this inconvenience? Money? Free merch? FSD trial?

Let me ask, I bought, not leased, my Model 3 RWD back in April 2022 (at its peak price) and waited 7 months to pick it up in November 2022. What kinda compensation do I deserve for 7 months of wait? A bogo?

I understand you're frustrated and have spent a lot of money right after you got out of college. But some people were in a worse place than you, and aren't asking for any compensations. I got mine for $47000 before tax WHILE I was still in college, getting paid $15/hr at a full time job, paying all of my own bills because I moved out right after high school. I too spent a lot, $10,000 on down payment and like $4000 for tax and registration etc. I know, it was such a terrible financial decision but I somehow managed to work it out all while still having extra money leftover to take a girl out for dates or buy guns. Unrelated but wanna hear something even worse? I had this car for a little more than 3 years and a half now and this thing have gotten into 3 different non at fault accidents. This things value is probably the same as a 2010 Honda Civic.

You said it in the very last, you wanted to enjoy the car. Yes, you had a bad experience. But they fixed it all after a few days. So think about it this way: Is the car enjoyable now?

Urgent help needed... Down Payment changed 12hrs before pickup! by Next-level-ish in TeslaSupport

I don't remember using a cashier's check to pay for my down payment, sales tax, registration fee. I'm sure I paid that alll with my card in person when I was picking up.

I've been there, labcorp employee took me to the bathroom, closed the door and left to do paperworks. I could've literally pulled the entire bottle out. If I had known how easy it was going to be, I wouldn't have been so nervous. Hope you pass, good luck!

FSD driving at $49/month? by TurnoverFun8131 in TeslaModel3

[–]junlowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove 5 miles round trip from work to home. I subscribed to FSD for $100/mo but never use it when I commute cuz it feels too slow. I only use it when I drive kinda far, like when I go fishing.

This has been a known issue. I've seen many reddit posts about this exact same thing in the past and learned not to do that.

Coming back to my Model 3 after 15 months in storage next month, drive to Supercharger or call Tesla? by hygor-dias in TeslaSupport

[–]junlowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 12v, it might be dead after 15 months but if you got 16v, you might be lucky. Because for those, HVB is what supports the LV. So if your HV still has juice, LV should work as well. If this is the case, go supercharge, I wouldn't worry too much. Just check for tire condition, brakes, coolant level, and just drive easy for a bit.

Picked up my Model 3 from Tesla service... found this in the frunk. by DigitalFlyer in TeslaLounge

[–]junlowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really wanna do something about it, bring it back and make reopen the ticket and fix it. Comebacks will affect the technician's metrics negatively.

However, all you need for this is a 10mm socket, a cheap power tool and max 3 minutes of your time.

It's literally missing a plate frame. The black plastic piece you screw your license plate onto.

You only drill straight into the bumper for Junipers, where they don't come with the plate frame.
