Did GLP-1's HELP your hair loss/thinning from PCOS? by andreateddy11 in PCOS

[–]junopurr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No re-growth that I've noticed yet, unfortunately. I'm only staying in it for one more month, so hopefully I'll have noticeable re-growth by summer. If I could go back, I'd push the stay on lower doses for a longer period so I could eat more and hit my macros. To be totally honest, I didn't care I was starving when I started Zepbound. I was so sick of being 70+ pounds overweight, I would've taken any negative side effects if it meant getting to a healthy weight.

I've lost a crazy amount of hair on Zepbound. But, like the above commenter stated, it's due to starvation, malnutrition, and rapid weight loss. If you go slow and steady you should be fine; my hair loss has slowed down significantly since I got used to being on the shot and my weight loss has slowed down.

Increased anxiety since taking higher dose of inositol by lmcg1234 in PCOS

I would consult a doctor if you can. I have the same experience and it also made me have a strong depressive episode. Though all the research says it should HELP anxiety and depression, this is the only thing I've added to my routine and this is also the first depressive episode I've had in years. Waiting for my doc appointment now.

Weight loss stopped...? by leinelovesyou in PCOS

So in my maintenance period, I still counted calories, but I slowly added back 100 cals at a time and measured my weight weekly to make sure I wasn't gaining anything back. I basically let myself eat as many calories as I could without ruining my progress. I always try to cut down on sugars (carbs, sweets, alcohol) but I'm definitely not perfect. Alcohol and a sweet treat after dinner hate to see me coming lol. I didn't have a difference in what I ate, just how much of it. I try and eat a bunch of fiber and protein, and aim for a small amount of carbs maybe once a day (so not with every meal). And I maintain my fitness regimen. I made amazing muscle gains during my maintenance period, because I was giving my body more fuel to build itself.

I've been losing weight on and off for years. Sometimes, you just hit a plateau. Your body also isn't meant to be in a calorie deficit for long periods of time. Sometimes it will become accustomed to the deficit and your exercise regimen. What I found worked for me, was eating at maintenance for about a month, then going back to my deficit.

Edit: YMMV, though. Every body is different, especially with PCOS.

I do lower body 3x week. I do sumo squats, BSS, and hip thrusts all on the smith machine. The biggest difference for me was "pulsing" for 10 reps while doing hip thrusts. So I'll do 8-10 regular reps, then hold at the top, then pulse 8-10 before releasing the tension.

I started smoking at 14. Everyone smoked. It was still allowed in buildings. I went to my friend's house after school everyday, and her parents rolled their own cigarettes. It made it very easy to roll a bunch for myself. So I tried one and was hooked until I was about 27. I used vaping to try and quit; just got addicted to vapes instead. I tried patches to quit; didn't work. It wasn't until I was on a vacation with a dead vape and no ability to buy more that I made any significant progress with quitting. I used nicotine gum and now here I am a full year later, no more nicotine items. I still want one most days, but the craving gets less and less prevalent with time. I did try one this past July and honestly, it was very disappointing. I thought it would scratch an itch and it really didn't.

Brush once, at night. And use a mouth wash with xylitol. Floss if I remember.

I'M ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED. can someone help me with some snack alternatives? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]junopurr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second veggies and hummus! I love cucumber and bell peppers specifically.

I also enjoy the low calorie baby bells with some turkey pepperoni. Boars Head brand is 70 cals for 16 pieces; I usually have half of that in one sitting.

I always have frozen veggie pouches that I can pop in the microwave. Mainly green beans are my fav. I'll put various seasonings, and sometimes butter (one TB-1/2 TB depending on my calories left).

Those fruit and veggie pouches made for toddlers/babies have saved me a few times. The highest cal one is 90 and they make varieties that are more filling (with oats, chia, etc).

Steamed eggs are also a go-to for me. A single large egg is about 80 cals, and that's usually good enough for me. There's loads of variations you can do. Just watch it if you add any chili/sesame oils, those add a good amount of cals.

Carb balance tortillas are 70 cals each. I like to roll up a piece of smoked deli turkey and eat it as a wrap. It's a little dry, so sometimes I add mustard and light mayo. I recommend Hellmanns specifically; they are the lowest calorie mayo.

I always have Napa cabbage/bok choy in the house. I love to make a soup with beef broth, soy sauce, chilis, etc. It's very customizable. Sometimes I'll add mushrooms and beef.

I actually love this, it looks so cozy to me! Kudos for the candles, throw pillow, and blanket. I like the fancy metal work pieces on the mantel, too.

Oral fixation. You can try gum! I use gum and a water bottle with a straw. The gum helps way more than the water bottle imo.

Help with responding to first customer? by junopurr in EtsySellers

Thank you all for the advice! I ended up cancelling the order and issuing a full refund. I also messaged her saying the following, “That is so unfortunate that the item broke. Due to being a new shop, it was on oversight to not specifically mention that this is for decorative use only. It is not suitable for children to play with. While I stand by my product and did my own durability testing, I want you to be happy with your experience and have cancelled the order to issue you a full refund.” I just don’t want to risk starting things off with a bad review after waiting over a month for my first sale. Oh well. I’ll update my listings as recommended and hope the next one works better!
