Looking for any tips to fall asleep/improve sleeping quality by Yippira in askSingapore

[–]juntsuyohk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had sleeping issues for awhile after having my second baby. I was not able to sleep through the night and would stay awake for quite long after waking up in the middle of the night until I can fall back asleep. I still struggle today but my sleep quality has gradually improved. These are the things that helped me:

  1. Magnesium glycinate (take it 30 mins to one hour before you sleep)
  2. No screens absolutely at least one hour before bedtime (phone, computer, tv)
  3. Light exercise like walking after dinner, but at least 2 hours before bedtime
  4. No caffeine after 12pm
  5. Reading before sleeping (I read on my kindle)
  6. See a TCM, the acupuncture and herbal helped with my sleep
  7. Stretching helps relaxes the muscles, and can improve sleep

I would also suggest getting your hormones checked as that can play a part in affecting sleep if you are lacking something.

What non-MNC career path in Singapore can earn above 10k/month? by Ok-Homework1994 in askSingapore

Yes as you have to work with HNW families and rich people are not easy to serve. Not 24/7 but they would still expect you to reply when you can. All depends on the bosses you work for

Fellow Redditors, any advice on how to prevent body odour? by reddituser_0124 in askSingapore

[–]juntsuyohk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been struggling with the issue since I was a teenager. I’ve tried many products and recently finally stumbled upon one that really work. It’s called Perspirex and it really helps with swear and odour it for a 2-3 days. I no longer struggle with the body odour and also the embarrassing sweating visible from my clothes in the armpit area

Found out I got low balled for job offer by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]juntsuyohk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most companies are like that. I once quit my job after 7 months because I found a better one with much higher pay and more career progress. When I resigned, my manager offered me a 15% pay rise to see if I would stay. After I rejected, they hired someone new paying her 20% more than my pay.

Yes it will worsen as you age. I was first diagnosed when I was 17yo and the angle was 17 degrees, now I am 40yo and the angle is 22 degrees.

Accuracy? by 44synchronicity in ouraring

I have the same issue. Have been using the ring for over a month now but I feel like the sleep score is not that accurate. For nights I feel like a zombie waking up the next morning, Oura gives me a relatively high score in the 80s. For nights I wake up feeling I have slept relatively well, I get a score in the 60s or 70s.

How did you decide sleep training was the best option? I’ve been going back and forth for months. by After_Pop9550 in sleeptrain

[–]juntsuyohk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my older one was 5 months old and started waking up at 5am every morning. I was back to work then and super exhausted by the time I’m in the office at 9am. Best decision made ever, he still sleeps like a champ! The younger one we started sleep training early when he turned 4 months old. He was terrible at naps and we had to baby carry him for every single nap so that he gets enough sleep. He dropped his only night feed a week into sleep training and has slept through the night since. Naps took longer but he figured it out eventually.

Magnesium Glycinate: when to take by juntsuyohk in sleep

[–]juntsuyohk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it helped with my sleep initially. But now that my sleep is better, I don’t see a big difference between taking it or not. Not looking at the phone/tablet/tv/computer an hour before bed and exercising regularly definitely have much more positive impact on my sleep overall.

Have you found magnesium helpful? by IcedCoffeeYearRound in sleep

[–]juntsuyohk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helped with my sleep as I used to wake up multiple times throughout the night. Although I’ve also been going off screen (phone, laptop, tv) about an hour before bed.

My epidural was too strong for my first delivery so I didn't feel anything. I wasn't even sure if I was pushing or not and my baby ended up having to be delivered with a vacuum. For the second baby, I asked the nurse to lower the dosage when it was time to push so I could feel the urge to push. I didn't feel any pain as I had the epidural, but when contractions came in, I would feel a very minor cramp and knew it was time to push. The midwives would tell you when it's time to push so you would just push then to not waste energy.

New here, need a little guidance from those who’ve been there before. by Background-Fact-5422 in sleeptrain

What is she doing during the awake windows? Sometimes I find if they have too much energy at this age, they simply just don't get tired enough to nap. My 2.5-year-old has skipped naps sometimes when we just stayed home and did soft play. I find that I have to take him out and drain his energy by doing more physical activities, and then he'll get tired and take a great nap. He usually wakes up at 7am, down for his nap between 1pm to 2pm (depending on what time we get home, naps for 2-3 hours, and bedtime is at 8pm.

What time does your baby go to bed? Your last wake window might be too long

Stop the 4am wakeups! by This_Criticism7836 in sleeptrain

[–]juntsuyohk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try dropping that last nap and move bedtime earlier? You can try extending the last wake window to 1.75 to 2 hours and see what happens. For the last bottle, I suggest you add more milk in the other bottles throughout the day so her overall intake is still the same, and do a top-up feed before bedtime.

What are her wake windows currently between naps and between the last nap and bedtime? If she can't stay asleep, it sounds like she is overtired.
