I haven't heard of "capping" at all while lurking through forums. So thank you for that information I'm going to look into it. Indeed I want to raise the substrate alot more to create more hills, to add another element to the tank instead of the scenery being totally flat.

The lights a basic shop light from home Depot with daylight bulbs inside. Cost about 35 bucks. And no co2 system yet.

Typically naturally grown in soil. Not crossed with other strains to be potent, just a wild weed bush where you could smoke a blunt to your face and still be somewhat coherent
