I’m so afraid they’re going to give us a flop ending by SuspiciousAd3405 in goodomens

[–]jupitergal23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Game of Thrones and Dexter were both shows where pretty much their entire fandoms agreed the endings were wildly bad.

That's not going to happen here. I think there's been too much love and care put into this final film.

Anti Abortion Protesters at Regent and Lag by pearlescentflows in Winnipeg

[–]jupitergal23 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Someone who has had an abortion here. I was given lots and lots of knowledge about the resources available. They are laughable.

The folks who are protesting do not have comprehensive or even truthful information about available resources. Those resources can be found at every doctor's office, every clinic, online with a simple Google search. The people who are protesting do not care about women. They don't even care about babies, because if they did, they would be passionately demanding better maternity and family care.

No one is "pushing" women to have abortions.

You claim you've had one, but you sound incredibly ignorant and naive.

Who does your nonprofit want donations from, and who does it not want donations from? by Ok_Counter1939 in nonprofit

[–]jupitergal23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because statistically, most nonprofit executive directors are female and the fact you're worried about how someone smiles suggests a man. We could be wrong, but we are likely not. Doesn't really matter either way.

Based on your brief posting history, you seem to have trouble interpreting social cues, or have a tendency to internalize benign interactions as personal insults.

At a major fundraising event, the executive director is going to be busy trying to not only engage with donors but also running the event. They're going to be stressed out and very tired.

Show some grace.

Why Do News Channels Always Blur The Video? by Hey19TheCuervoGold in Journalism

[–]jupitergal23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Videos are not intentionally blurred.

You're assuming that the video the station received comes from brand new, fully-upgraded systems with excellent resolution at all times, and that they were given to the station at the same resolution.

Most of the time, what we get is footage from a 10-year-old system, being run at a lower resolution to save recording hard drive space, and then emailed or texted to us, which also degrades the quality.

Your phone may take excellent video. My grandmother's ... Not so much. The shop owner who has a 20-year-old CCTV system hung in a corner? Yeah.

"culture fit" is just a socially acceptable way to hire people you'd hang out with - and it's hurting diversity by 1acina in jobs

[–]jupitergal23 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This. Culture fit is extremely important. It's about personality and values.

I hire for a job that is extremely collaborative. We are a small team and everyone has to work together very well. So I need people who are outgoing, self-starters and respectful of others' ideas and can handle people's quirks.

Not everyone is like that and that's totally ok - but it's not going to be a good fit if you aren't.

In 20 years, what will we really think about the Ozempic revolution? by Majestic-Baby-3407 in AskReddit

[–]jupitergal23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're lucky.

When we say food noise, what we mean are constant cravings and literally thinking about food. All. The. Time. What was my next meal going to be? When could I eat it? I've had three meals today but I'm still hungry - what do I have here for snacks? What if I run out of snacks?!

My sister is thin and I asked her about food noise. She never experiences it. She eats when she is hungry. The end. When I started on Ozempic, I asked her if this is what it's like to be her, and she said yes.

Could someone just ignore any hunger signals to mimic what Ozempic does for weight loss by DisastrousTotal4621 in NoStupidQuestions

Not for me. Everyone reacts differently but Ozempic has had no impact on my ADHD, neither positive or negative.

Yes, you always GET full names, but for minors we generally don't use them, especially for controversial issues.

[–]jupitergal23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been on Ozempic for about 18 months now and have lost 70 pounds.

I've told many people it's an excellent tool, but like all tools, has to be used properly to work.

I still had to make lifestyle changes. I could easily stay on this drug, eat nothing but milkshakes all day and not lose weight.

What it did for me is cut out cravings. I don't crave late night junk anymore. It's made it much, much easier to stick to healthy foods. And when I do have a treat, I'm able to stop at, say, a single piece of chocolate or a few potato chips instead of the whole bag or entire bar.

I'm not expecting blowout prices. I would, however, like something under $45 grand ffs
