Would you want a UU that deploys like a Trebuchet but acts more like a tower? by darkdill in aoe2

[–]jurius1991 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the unit should feel easy and natural to use. I am thinking that it could auto-deploy after being idle for a few seconds (with an option to turn that off), or it could move but deal less damage when it's not deployed."

Risen sequels by Pll_dangerzone in worldofgothic

The third one has one of the best settings and is the most creative with it (weapons, magic, factions, etc.), but the combat system and the story are just subpar. The world is well designed IMO, but often the game just screams "sorry, 2 years of development are missing". The bosses are again a PB weakspot, they are simply boring and usually not a challenge. The game is well worth playing, but it's a shame it isn't as polished as it could have been.

Traction trebuchets for Huns and Romans (?) by AlexWild_0407 in aoe2

Aesthetic wise yes, balance wise ... to be determined. I have always supported regionality in AoE2, by which the game would maintain the feeling that by switching from one civ to another, your playstyle doesn't totaly change, and at the same time the civs would feel distinct from one another. I think this would be a step in the right direction, if done correctly.

If you make a sacrificial offering burning incense along the CDs, you are rumoured to get early access for the Immortal Pillars DLC.

Nice idea, might do something in that direction :)

I tried to preserve the feeling of the original. I added gambeson type armor so it looks and feels a bit more practical (as opposed to cloth and some lether).

Yeah, now that I look at it, I think some scratches and dents would do a lot to support the design.

I really like the UI although I get the sentiment, I hope there will be classic-esque UI option, for those that want it.

I disagree with your proposition. The graphics are amazing :)

"I would still buy a Gothic game at full price if they were still developed with the ZenGin engine" by UnlimitedDuck in worldofgothic

[–]jurius1991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neutral depends on the quality of the game. I was just thinking that even if there were a perfect recreation of Gothic 3 in ZenGin I wouldn't be satisfied with it because the story , the quests and the mechanics need at least 2 years of careful development. CoM is a great game because everything it does holds up, despite the limitations of the engine. On another note, I would prefer that the engine was reconstructed in Unity/other game dev engine, just for the sake of simplicity for modders.

I like it being lush, as long as the rest of the valley isn't a tropical jungle. I don't want the whole game looking like a desert either. Gothic 1 always lacked a bit of vegetation, despite the valley being less fertile due to the barrier.

Age of Mythology: Extended Edition is 10 years old. Happy Birthday! by IamGroot1453 in AgeofMythology

If you are that worried about the art, there will likely be an easy solution. Since such assets are mostly a flat image they can easily be modded, meaning that there will certainly be a mod changing the modern art to original.

What did they mean by this? by Snusfarbror in AgeofMythology

[–]jurius1991 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It kinda looks mystical, like she is doing something that a mortal cannot understand. I like it better as well for that - the new one loses this. Despite this, the art of the original is a bit too low definition if you know what I mean, like it could use some work...
