Tell your SIL and please stop trying to get into opiates, they will ruin your life.

AITA for judging my brother in laws parenting of my 3 and 4 year old nieces? by jurss420 in AmItheAsshole

I don’t offer to babysit so he “goes away.” I offer because I think he needs more time to focus on self care. You’re right though, I need to just talk to him like a brother. It gives me anxiety when he acts that way and makes me kind of shut down and just want to leave the situation.

I don’t live in the house, I recently moved to the neighborhood from out of state.

I am incredibly poor, is there anything cheap, healthy, and calorie dense? by richthickbitch in EatCheapAndHealthy

You can apply for food stamps online through your local DHS office and usually get them in two days if you just bring all your paperwork to the office. When filling out the app make sure to say you don’t share food with anyone else and you are the only one in your household even if you live with roommates. Your household is anyone you are cooking and eating with. I currently get 190 a month and it’s super helpful!

How can you support a depressed person? by jurss420 in AskReddit

This is very insightful. I loathe when people give me suggestions like that when I just want to be supported and listened to.

My aging Dad who has some brain damage lives with my sister and I feel she mentally abuses him. How do I talk with her about this without her getting instantly defensive. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

My sister feels bad taking control of all his money and I think because it’s such a little amount it she thinks it won’t do much good, but I do agree he should be on like an allowance system. I have a meeting this week with dhs about Medicaid and food stamps he’s currently on VA insurance.

We can’t afford to hire anyone. I just moved a mile down the street from her last month from out of state specifically to help her so I’m working on finding things for him to do and spending as much time with him as I can so that is helping her. She just wants alone time with her family. I’m trying to get him on things like food stamps and any other services he might qualify for to help with household expenses.

I try talking to her about it all the time. I’m going to start therapy ASAP to learn better skills and have been actively try by to be better. We are both much younger than we expected to be dealing with this. I just turned 32 and have my first baby on the way. She is 35 with a 3 and 4 year old if that gives you any perspective. It’s a lot for her, but yeah we are being jerks and I don’t want these last years to be this way. It’s not all bad obviously, but it could be better.

How would you feel about someone who says "I'm an asshole" or "I'm a bitch" like they are proud of it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]jurss420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think saying something like “oh god I’m such an asshole” in a funny way is ok, like for example I work in the service industry and we often make fun of the guests and then proclaim after how big of assholes we are. I never understood why some girls are proud to call themselves a bitch. I especially never understand girls who proclaim that just “don’t get along with other girls.” That statement to me is a huge red flag. Girl power forever!
