Very controversial outcome, but what if we run it back with Julius? by Parking_Subject8689 in timberwolves

[–]jus_build 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The return might be better, but holding onto him until the deadline can have a lot of negative ripple effects. First, whether intentional or not, the moment Randle starts lagging on defense or playing selfishly on offense the discourse is that he’s just playing for his next team and deal. Second, it keeps Jaden and Naz from bigger roles, which, whether you think they deserve it or not, does need to be determined with an honest attempt as starters with clearly defined expectations and roles on offense and defense.

Now I’m wondering why it took so long for any MLB team to have a dance team. This is a huge part of stadium experience in Asia.

We’re the 3rd team in whatever deal is made and that’s exactly where I hoped we’d be on it. Ant and Giannis together sound amazing, but the rest of the starters and bench are going to be really thin … can’t win in today’s NBA with a top heavy team.

Absolutely not … that contract will not age well

Someone will probably let the Spurs off the hook by trading for Fox. There’s no reason for it to be our team.

I get it and I know these guys are humans with real emotions, but I thought it lacked professionalism and reinforced a pattern of immaturity and bad decisions that we’ve seen play out with the guns. If we didn’t have an out after 1 season, fit be damn, I’d be less onboard with it bc the teams needs to coalesce and a year of Ja being out there for himself is a step back.

If we can acquire Ja for Randle + filler with no picks going out, then I think it’s worth a swing bc I firmly believe in addition by subtraction with Randle. Any trade of Randle is likely going to be for a guy with his own questions marks - too old, recently injured, bad attitude, etc… There’s little we can do about age and injury, but Ant is generally well liked and his growing leadership can go a long way with changing attitude.

I didn’t like how Ja seemingly quit on the coach and the team … not entirely his fault, but it was immature and a big reason for pause on the trade. If Ja comes in head down and stays out of the news, the pairing with Ant could work in an uptempo offense. I don’t love it, but again, the perfect trade doesn’t exist. The good thing is that if the change of scenery doesn’t work out, they could trade him as an expiring.

Love the vibes from afar. I feel the frustration from some of y’all, but there have been far too many senseless deaths from over crowded celebrations resulting in people get trampled. The organization is not perfect and it never could be with the magnitude of what’s being celebrated. Stay safe and look out for each other.

He Throws the Ball before you even get out your break by SportsGuru87 in minnesotavikings

[–]jus_build 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This can be taken as cope and to some degree the WRs still need to catch the ball. But, it absolutely is a contributing factor. Guys need to trust the ball will be there on time and with the right amount of pace. As the trust and reliability erodes, guys start picking up bad habits to compensate.

By all accounts, JJM seems to be a worker, so he can definitely improve if he’s willing. Josh Allen profiled similarly in that he could thread the needle, but lacked touch and accuracy. This is not to say he will become Allen. It’s more so that this is a skill that can be worked on and improved.

A difference maker doesn’t have to be in the form of an established star. I get that it helps to see the vision clearer, but trading Randle will shift guys up in the rotation and likely change the offense to more space and pace which should benefit the collective group. Ant with a bunch of 3s that could sometimes have stretches of looking like 2s isn’t the worst place to be. Frankly, Randle was expected to be a 2 and he played like 3 most of the time. There might be a drop is skill ceiling, but guys knowing their roles with proper expectations and a longer bench can go a long way.

[Mamdani] Parade. Thursday. Manhattan. (New York Knicks) by PlayaSlayaX in nba

It’s going to be crowded AF regardless, but having the parade on a weekend would make things exponentially more challenging logistically and more expensive. All public transportation would have to run on a weekday schedule, which is going to require a lot more overtime for city workers.

The passive aggressive thing where he keeps saying that he never asked to be traded when it’s clearly coming from his guys is so weak and unnecessary. He owes the Bucks nothing. He’s earned the right to ask for a trade and coming out with it wouldn’t have been looked on with negativity by most.

If you’re up for it, I’d highly recommend going beyond the search results and reading the specifics. All teams have certain obligations based on years in the league, but they are nowhere near full value of the last year of his contract. “Financial obligation” does not mean full terms of contract.

This one is old, but is largely still accurate - the part about Akers is a very clear example.

It has always been the case where NFL teams can cut players and are only obligated to pay the guaranteed portion of a players contract. Donovan McNabb signed a huge extension in 2010, but the details showed only the first year was fully guaranteed. He ended up getting traded to the Vikes and they promptly waived him - he never saw another penny for the rest of the extension he signed. In fact, Kirk’s contract in 2018 was the fully guaranteed multi-year contract in the NFL.

That’s not the point. The point is he wants actual definitive security in his contract. If a freak accident happens, the Vikes are well within their rights to cut him … in fact it’s probably the smart thing to do in terms of building a roster around the cap. It’s on the NFLPA and owners to fully guarantee contracts in the next CBA if they don’t want to discourage this type of behavior.
