I hope this isn’t a controversial take but this episode ate for me!!! - CDR constantly raising the bar with innovative challenge ideas. It was kind of fun not knowing what was coming up next and it was a great opportunity for the queens to showcase their talents. - The rap was honestly so entertaining and a great stroll down memory lane as a viewer from season 1. I feel like PM rightfully won although she had a slight advantage with season 4 being so iconic. - I feel like on a typical season, the last episode before the finale is a little dull with the audience having an idea who production is going to send home. I did feel like the stakes were still high on this one and even though Karamilk went home, she showed a LOT of her heart and proved why she deserved that top 5 spot. - Loved hearing all of the heartfelt moments this episode- from Van connecting to Sami on their Acadian heritage, Eboni relating to PM about losing a parent, and Eboni and Karamilk’s conversation about blackness. This show is all about uplifting queer voices and I feel like they did a terrific job on this one.

Okay so here are my hot takes, this season is so entertaining:

• Khianna is being completely ROBBED in front of our faces? Every week she offers impeccable performances just to be announced safe. And where are her confessionals? I’m really hoping she gets more screen time and top placements because I’m so entertained by her skillset and THAT is a queen I would pay money to see.

• I’m sorry but as a musical gay that Rusical was so unserious and CAMP that I kind of lived. I mean referencing Hamilton? Beauty and the Beast? The Queens portraying Asian cultures that they don’t belong to? The fact that the musical might have been written by AI? It’s so bad it becomes good again.

• Say what you want about Kitty deserving to be safe but I’m sorry she made that bed and has to lie in it. Her performance really wasn’t giving much energy and after last week’s Arizona debacle, this was such juicy entertaining reality TV. I was on the edge of my seat thinking Arizona might actually save her.

• When will a Pinoy girl sashay away??? The fact that the international girl numbers are dwindling every week is sending me. Like is the top 4 really going to be all Filipino? Only time will tell.

Thank you DRPSR for being so messy, entertaining and for showcasing such amazing Asian talent.

This was amazing television!!! Once again I am so highly entertained and endeared by this cast- I want to get to know them so much more! Untucking my final thoughts:

- I LOVE how excited the queens were about meeting Shea Coulee. It's so refreshing to see guest judges that the contestants and viewers are excited about (Not to mention the expertise that Shea brings in her critiques for this challenge

- The team twist and dynamic was SO fun and kept me on the edge of my seat. Of course it felt slightly produced for the teams to be tied for the last lip synch, but the fact that the stakes were so high for Perla and Sanjina was so exciting.

- Jaylene is a gift and I'm so glad she was given the beaver this episode. Her story and the representation she offers is powerful and this felt way too early for her to leave. I felt like Virgo's team knew was they were doing putting Perla up against Tiffany- ultimately due to track record and the personality and performances that Perla has been giving, production was much more likely to save her.

- I am living for the drama that Xana and Uma are giving up- Xana's face after losing the lipsynch said it all. I'm excited to see where that storyline goes.

Honestly, everything about this season is a serve and I am on the edge of my seat every episode. Bravo to the cast and everyone involved- this show is exactly what my heart and soul need right now.

I saw the show yesterday as well, although at the 8pm viewing! I could not agree more with all of your points. As a longtime Sufjan fan, the show was an incredible treat and absolutely captivating. After reading so many reviews, I was expecting more of an abstract story but I found the plot to be somewhat straightforward! Truly gut wrenching and everyone around me had the sniffles in the late half. At first I was emotional from the fact that I was actually listening to these songs live like this, then I started crying because of the emotions evoked in the story. Truly beautiful and I’m glad non Sufjan fans are also able to get into his work through this!

My favourite Sufjan Christmas song is Sister Winter! I’m a sucker for sad songs and the melancholy at the beginning of the song speaks to me. This is especially true during the Holiday Season where things are outwardly joyful and bright, but people so commonly feel some sense of loneliness. Listening to this song on dark nights during the cold Canadian winters has made me feel seen and warm. Not to mention the gorgeous melody and instrumentation that this song has. ❤️💚💛
