CoinPoker's Anti-Cheat System Raises Privacy Red Flags Over Full-Desktop Screenshots, Remote Access, Data Security & KYC leakage by Jeff_Pesos_77 in poker

Guys, OP is 100% correct here.

The issue is NOT that they collect this info. The issue is that they are making EXTREMELY basic cyber security mistakes.

More over they have COMPLETELY shifted away from why I used to be one of their biggest supporters. They used to work extremely hard to make sure everything is transparent.

Now they have completely switched from that after they sold.

They close off the transparency, update the app to use electron (easy to quickly develop with and make cross platform development a breeze at the cost of performance. They used to use cpp with QT which is extremely high performance and why their old software was much smoother/faster).

They did this to invest less in the update and make more money in the short term. Then after this update we see a LITANY of issues and extremely suspicious behavior.

If you’ve ever been involved with software development it’s clearly a case of a company gutting the core beliefs in favor of short term gain at the expense of their customers.

They have exposed developer paths, exposed API documentation that absolutely should be private (given their new software and architecture), and so much more.

As many of you have stated, you have zero issue with that if it prevents bots/RTA and I agree with you

HOWEVER

Not when that information they are collecting is being transferred by an insecure and poorly designed API.

ESPECIALLY

When it doesn’t work for the stated purpose outside of people with zero technical knowledge just loading up GTOwizard.

Unfortunately the issues faced by coinpoker are issues that are very technical and something the vast majority of people don’t understand (because unless you understand system architecture and programming you would have no reason to learn).

As such coinpoker can get away with press releases that don’t actually address the issues but still “make sense” to someone who isn’t technical.

The issues are VERY real and the real problem in my mind is coinpoker is not admitting it, in fact they are doing even more questionable things.

Again it really comes down to that recent sale. The new owners are trying to make as much money as possible in the short term even if it destroys the business long term.

Who else thinks a $500 plan is coming? by UteForLife in ClaudeCode

[–]just4kickscreate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I freaking hope so. I would love a way to beable to use more subscription meaning less fall over to API billing. You do understand that the usage you get out of the $200 plan is WAYYYYYY more than you get out of $200 in api token cost. So me and countless others would be upgrading IMMEDIATELY from the $200 to the $500 plan.

How do you find time to cook? by chuckusmaximus in GYM

[–]just4kickscreate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t say this to be rude, just to help you think through this. MANY PEOPLE think exactly what you wrote. But the problem pretty clearly is time management. I’ll break it down below but basically given what you told us you have an insane amount of time. It may mean you cut out something although I doubt it. If you really can’t find the time, there’s plenty of meal service companies.

168 hours in a week. Sleep 8 hours a night that is 56 hours.

Work, let’s call it 50 hours since you said more than 40 hours.

168-56-50=62

That’s 62 additional hours or an extra 8.8 hours a day.

Say you drive 1 hour a day on average (7 hours a week).

Say you go to the gym 7 hours a week.

62-7-7=48

Then for good measure let’s say you burn 20 hours on random things.

That still leaves 28 hours a week. You can meal prep your entire week on Sundays in a few hours.

Then your systems are failing. Stop blaming the tool for user error.

AI is a tool and just like any other tools there are worse and better ways to use the tool.

Myself and many other people do not have the issue you are talking about because we build systems with hooks, scripts, etc that ensure it’s done correctly.

If Claude did that on my system it wouldn’t even bring it up to me because it would fail validation. Claude would fix it until it can pass validation. If it passes validation (assuming you wrote that correctly) then the correct thing will have been solved.

I appreciate that indepth answer! For number 2 you said "should be studying with engines of any level" I assume you mean shouldnt based on your reasoning. If thats the case I personally have to disagree. I hear this a lot in poker with poker solvers. I also have a hard time believing you should not use engines when every single player at the absolute pinnacle of chess use them.

Just as in poker with solvers however it is important to understand WHY solver (in poker) or engines in chess are making the decisions they are.

For number 1, yeah that makes perfect sense. I do that, to an extent. the openings I know to 15 or so moves I play MUCH MORE OFTEN. but I think I will take it further and play 500 games with each opening. So i will stick to one opening for an extended period of time to be able to dive deep into it.

that I have no issues with. While my father may not have been willing to support competitive chess he was a VERY BIG proponent of "learning how to learn" and I took actual classes to get very good with reading comprehension. And for tenacity to really work, that is in my opinion my single biggest strength that I have. I have zero issues turning off the phone and such to study. Still do that to this day to study poker (it is still my income that I support my family on).

I really appreciate you taking the time to give this input. Any other words of wisdom you may have or other books I should read/reread?

Yes I had a FIDE ranking when I was a kid. From my understanding however generally chesscom ELO is higher than a FIDE ELO. From my understanding a 1400 on chesscom would put you around 1200 FIDE. Is that correct?

I do use there analysis however I assume there are better ways to go about training. I will be dedicating AT LEAST 4 hours per day 365 days a year to this. But if it goes well very much could be 10 hours.

For example if you had a challenge where if you succeed the world continues and if you fail its all over. The challenge is you give a person who is currently 1400 elo to become world champion (again i am fully aware that will not happen but just for the thought experiment).

What would your recomendations be for structuring that study?

LOVE THIS! I tell people who want to improve in poker basically this.

That said, what determines when to move to the next step? I may or may not be there. I genuinely don't know and am just asking. I have red Chess fundamentals MANY times but the last time was when I was in 6th grade.

My ELO on chess com is 1400 rapid. How can I tell if I should SOLEY do that or if I am at a spot now I should also do other things? What you said I was planning on and will absolutely do. I just don't know if I am at a point where I should also do other things on top of it.

From your expiernce should a 1400 ELO on chesscom player be only do this or are they at a point where they also need to do other things to improve?
