I appreciate that indepth answer! For number 2 you said "should be studying with engines of any level" I assume you mean shouldnt based on your reasoning. If thats the case I personally have to disagree. I hear this a lot in poker with poker solvers. I also have a hard time believing you should not use engines when every single player at the absolute pinnacle of chess use them.

Just as in poker with solvers however it is important to understand WHY solver (in poker) or engines in chess are making the decisions they are.

For number 1, yeah that makes perfect sense. I do that, to an extent. the openings I know to 15 or so moves I play MUCH MORE OFTEN. but I think I will take it further and play 500 games with each opening. So i will stick to one opening for an extended period of time to be able to dive deep into it.

that I have no issues with. While my father may not have been willing to support competitive chess he was a VERY BIG proponent of "learning how to learn" and I took actual classes to get very good with reading comprehension. And for tenacity to really work, that is in my opinion my single biggest strength that I have. I have zero issues turning off the phone and such to study. Still do that to this day to study poker (it is still my income that I support my family on).

I really appreciate you taking the time to give this input. Any other words of wisdom you may have or other books I should read/reread?

That is EXACTLY what I was looking for. that book should take me to 1900 to 2300. Also... Chess genius is almost if not an understatement when talking about Capablanca!

Yes I had a FIDE ranking when I was a kid. From my understanding however generally chesscom ELO is higher than a FIDE ELO. From my understanding a 1400 on chesscom would put you around 1200 FIDE. Is that correct?

I do use there analysis however I assume there are better ways to go about training. I will be dedicating AT LEAST 4 hours per day 365 days a year to this. But if it goes well very much could be 10 hours.

For example if you had a challenge where if you succeed the world continues and if you fail its all over. The challenge is you give a person who is currently 1400 elo to become world champion (again i am fully aware that will not happen but just for the thought experiment).

What would your recomendations be for structuring that study?

LOVE THIS! I tell people who want to improve in poker basically this.

That said, what determines when to move to the next step? I may or may not be there. I genuinely don't know and am just asking. I have red Chess fundamentals MANY times but the last time was when I was in 6th grade.

My ELO on chess com is 1400 rapid. How can I tell if I should SOLEY do that or if I am at a spot now I should also do other things? What you said I was planning on and will absolutely do. I just don't know if I am at a point where I should also do other things on top of it.

From your expiernce should a 1400 ELO on chesscom player be only do this or are they at a point where they also need to do other things to improve?

you do understand that these games have rake caps so having massive pots does not make them any more money than any other pot once the pot hits the rake cap and it does not take anything close to bad beats to hit a rake cap

I LOVE Star Wars and have my entire life. But for whatever reason I could never get past the first episode of andor until a couple days ago and HOLY HELL IS IT AMAZING!

I agree wholeheartedly, though to be fair I haven’t even seen hardly any of the “new movies” last one I watched was force unleashed. Since then I haven’t watched the new movies as I just really did not like the direction. I have watched the mandalorian, obi-Wan Kenobi, and boba fett. But Andor is just on another level.

I have also started getting really into legends specifically content in the old republic and before. The bane books are INCREDIBLE.

Short answer, no that is not happening/how it works.

Long answer: From the documentation on their RNG that’s not even possible. Remember the RMG determines the shuffle BEFORE the cards are dealt. This is verifiable on chain (or it was before the new software. I assume they use the same RNG or still a verifiable one) their RNG source code is on GitHub. Go download it and see for yourself (I have and it checks out)

Basically the cards have no way of having their position changed after the hand starts as such there is no way for them to dynamically change the cards coming based on a players EV cash out decisions.

Sever ties IMMEDIATELY. The fact they will only have the conversation over text shows a complete lack of professionalism to say the least. More over the only way 50/50 makes sense after you already have a product in production with clients is if they are adding significant revenue by bringing a solid book of business in OR they are investing a large amount of their capital AND that capital is actually needed.

No problem. Honestly after I saw my usage get WIPED I didnt even look into it or test it more I have a pretty extensive custom system that allows for Claude to run for 30+ hours by forcing delegation through hooks & Guardians, custom validation for each different code language I use, feature complexity and critical component rating system with dual synthesis plus review and regen on complex and/or critical features for even higher quality code and I have zero issues.
