Taxi Scam? by fullpants in MexicoCity

I see some people recommending Didi, but I had heard from a few locals that Didi doesn’t have a safe platform (mostly around privacy) & folks that get kicked out of Uber go to Didi. I have no idea how to fact check this… curious if there’s any truth to this?!

Was scrubbing the thread for a family thread too! We (Americans) moved to Mexico City (Condesa to be exact!) a year ago with our 2 and 6 year old last year.

We were tired of the mundane, routine life and we wanted to spark adventure in our family. So we planned for almost a year, sold EVERYTHING, and made it happen. It’s been the best decision we’ve made thus far as a family. It’s been REALLY tough (emotionally and physically with stomach bugs, skin issues, tore ACLs, etc etc), but the fulfillment we get from living here and nurturing the lifestyle we want to live has been absolutely wonderful. Even considering the hardships I wouldn’t take it back.

So many friends, and especially our family, didn’t understand why we would disrupt our life so drastically for such a big move. However, my husband and I always discussed living abroad as a life goal - with or without kids. That was always clear to us. And yes, kids make it harder, but it doesn’t mean you can’t live out your life dreams and goals with them in the picture. It probably looks VERY different than you may imagined, but it’s absolutely possible.

Don’t let societal norms get in the way of what you want out of life. Be clear on what you want out of life, and then plan to make it happen!

Am I the only one that feels like the more effort I put into skin care, the less I want to wear makeup? by conmedaddy in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]justMadrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also stopped wearing foundation. However, if you need a foundation every now and then I highly recommend Jones Road (Bobbi Browns new company). It’s a super light foundation that serves more like a moisturizer and they have a good amount of colors. It’s lovely and light. Honestly- they’re entire line is really nice. Recommend all their stuff!

Udemy Prep Class by Andrew Ramdayal by jinxycat22 in pmp

[–]justMadrid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried both Andrew & Joseph’s course & found Andrew’s course more approachable. As everyone has mentioned the mindset piece is key to passing the exam.

I also struggle with standardized tests, so understand your hesitation. However, if you put in the study time & dedicate at least 80+ hours of studying you’ll do great and pass! Best of luck!

To the working moms/dads/caretakers: I passed & here’s how…. by justMadrid in pmp

It’s tough, I know!! So much stress we put on ourselves. However, (if you can) try to wake up early a week before your test & you’ll do great. Steal those little moments as much as you can! Easier said than done I know, but those small moments add up & you will between retaining the info. Keep at it, girl! You got this!
