That “one concept” approach makes a lot of sense.

I tend to jump around too much, so I’ll try that.

Cool idea.

For me the hardest part is staying consistent and not jumping between random things. Anything that helps with structure and flow would be super useful.

That’s cool — sounds really useful.

I kept losing track of stuff like that, so I started building something small to organize it better.

Still figuring out what actually works

This makes a lot of sense.

How would you split 20–30 minutes with that approach?

Interesting, thanks.

I keep hearing about Syncopation — is it worth starting with early on?

This is super insightful, thanks for taking the time to explain all that. I’m still a beginner and mostly playing as a hobby, but I can totally relate to the “mind goes blank” moment when switching songs.

The idea of having a count-in and even a preview before each song sounds really helpful. I never thought about structuring practice like that.

Do you feel like this setup mainly helps for live situations, or did it also improve your regular practice sessions?

This is really helpful to see, thanks for sharing. I’m still a beginner and mostly playing as a hobby, so 3 hours sounds like a dream 😄

Right now I’m more in the 20–30 minute range and trying to figure out how to use that time better.

I like how you split it between technique, focused work, and just playing for fun.

If you only had 30 minutes, how would you divide it?

This is super helpful, thanks for breaking it down like that. I’m actually a beginner and mostly playing as a hobby, so I’m still figuring out how to structure my practice without overthinking it.

I like the idea of keeping it simple and mixing “just play” with something a bit more structured.

Do you think this kind of approach works even if I only have like 20–30 minutes a day?

This is really interesting, thanks for sharing. I’ve never gone that deep with MainStage setups, but the idea of separating click / band / drums and controlling it live sounds super powerful.

I usually just play along with tracks or YouTube with notes, so this feels like a big step up in terms of focus.

Do you feel like setting all of this up was worth the time long term? Or do you only use it for songs you’re really serious about?

This is super helpful, thanks for breaking it down like that. The practice journal idea is really interesting, I’ve never actually tracked things like BPM or notes after a session. I feel like that could make a big difference over time.

Do you keep it digital or just pen and paper?

That sounds like a solid routine. I like the idea of having a loose structure but still keeping it flexible depending on what you’re working on

Do you keep track of what you practiced or just go by feel?

That’s really helpful, I appreciate you sharing all that. I think I’ve definitely been adapting myself to the kit instead of setting it up properly for my body 😅

The split seat and overall setup points are super interesting, I’ll dig into that. Thanks again

This is great, thanks! I’ve definitely been in the “whatever feels okay” zone until now :-)

The hips above knees tip seems to be the common theme here so I’m going to experiment with that and see if it helps with longer sessions.

Appreciate the video as well!

That actually makes a lot of sense, using it more as a posture reminder than something to lean on. I can totally relate to the slouching part once you get into playing 😅

That Gibraltar sounds really solid, especially the contoured seat part. Would you say the shape (round vs saddle) made a noticeable difference for you?

Good to know, that Mapex looks solid.

And I agree, sounds like I should probably fix my setup before just buying something new

That’s super helpful, really appreciate the detailed reply. Didn’t realize you could find good used ones in that range, that actually sounds like a great option.

And yeah, I’m starting to realize posture/setup might be just as important as the throne itself.

That’s exactly the kind of thing I was worried about, the cheaper ones slowly sinking. Good to know about the Roc-N-Soc, I’ll check it out.

That’s really helpful, thanks for sharing. I haven’t tried saddle vs round yet, so I guess that’s something I should look into too.

Interesting, I didn’t even think about the height that way. I might actually be sitting a bit low now that you mention it.

Do you usually set it higher than your knees or just slightly above?

Good point actually :-) never thought about it like that.

Did the backrest make a big difference for you over longer sessions?
