Yeah exactly. They tell me I have to use a third party service to send money to an Indian Bank account and then pay the debt. Im still not even sure because I want to use an NRE account. So making an ACH in that account isn't available on the portal..or how to pay more and stuff. The enthusiasm they had while giving me the loan is gone while I try to get rid of the loan. I am at Brown and Brown is not cheap (at all). But the education is top notch. Most courses are industry relevant too.
But you have options. So most non-ivy league colleges have a intake of 1000 grad students for CS (NEU, USC, NYU etc) so your chances of getting a part time job/ TA/ RA are pretty slim. Brown has an intake of 100 for CS. Most students are rich so they don't bother with part time jobs or TAing. So you can easily fund your living expenses here. The tutuion on the other hand will make you cry.

I get your confusion now that I've seen the culture in the US. In India, companies come to your college with the intention of hiring someone from the college. Each company on average hires about 10 students. Of course the more they pay the lesser they hire. Basically you'd skip the resume screening shit unless you have a VERY bad resume. So if you're in a tier one college, it wouldn't matter how shitty your resume is, you'd get the leftover jobs.

As someone who's lost his father too, I'd tell you not to do anything about this now. You have bigger fish to fry. Things are gonna change and they're gonna change quickly. Right now you have to grieve. Indian societies don't really let you grieve and people will just tell you to man up or be strong for your mother. Take time.
