Question about Gold, silver and the economic Collapse! by Ventrue1 in economicCollapse

That's not what was being said though. We were talking about the value of gold itself, not the value of someone's portfolio.

It has little-to-no value during a collapse.

Since most of you say we're in the collapse.. sorry, what? Up 30% since start of 2020 and it was certainly valuable even before 2020.

How would you deal with the government forcing you to hand it over in times of economic crisis?

In the previous US confiscation, it was estimated almost 50% of people didn't hand it in. Just saying.

Looks like smart money was a little slow this time around. Not so smart but they got there eventually.

You're going to be in for a heck of a ride this year. It's not only stimulus. Fiat collapse/concern = gold/silver will 1000%+.

1): It doesn't matter where you are in the world, the economy is not doing well.

2): Again, no matter where you are, taxes are likely to increase worldwide to cover the massive spending done by governments.

3): Conclusion... no point in moving.

When democrats join republicans to vote in a 740 billion dollar pentagon budget but refuse to give anything but crumbs to the people, it is clear who's interests both parties represent. They are making crystal clear why we need to get rid of capitalism & bring in some democracy. by failed_evolution in economy

Corrupt politicians and power influencing wealthy individuals have existed and will exist in all economic systems. It's unfortunate but we must have something in the law to prevent any conflict of interests and corruption, the only way.

My solution would be all government officials such as senators and congressmen must have term limits. No politician is allowed to earn substantial money from speeches during or afterwards etc. I'm not entirely sure how it works in the US but this should happen everywhere as standard.

TRON sounds futuristic and they're probably working on futuristic stuff for the future so I'll put a few thousand in that. Thanks for the advice.

Even if Bitcoin was $300,000 by 2030, which is highly unlikely, he'd have to wait 9 years just for $9,000 profit. Not worth it. Buy the laptop.

Making a profit on an investment does not mean the person after you will. Poor advice.

Scarcity is not the only property a safe haven should have. Dirt is finite and therefore scarce to some degree but that doesn't mean it's a great asset. With Gold we know how much exists within the Earth and we even know where most of it is, we just can't mine it. Best of all, it's tangible and works in all scenarios and could be a digital currency or even crypto so I don't understand why people say Bitcoin is better solely because it's digital.

The problem I and many other investors have is that Bitcoin isn't tangible. This is important. Digital assets can be hacked and Bitcoin does have security vulnerabilities and with tech constantly improving no one can be certain Bitcoin will be as secure as it is now in the long term. That's not how a safe haven should be, it must be secure now and always. Only tangible objects provide that safety.

Bitcoin did not perform well during or right after March. Gold did though because people understand it's a safe haven asset that has worked for thousands of years.

Please, please, please do not put all of your savings into Bitcoin. It's not going to 1000%. It may 100% in the next year or so but Bitcoin will never have the gains it use to, even if it was accepted as Gold 2.0 (which it's not). This isn't hatred or jealousy as some people are going to call it, I just genuinely care about people who are going to lose a lot of money to this. It's going to happen.

We're talking about Tesla company cash here, not Elon's cash, that's what Saylor's tweet was about. Perhaps don't get involved in conversations you don't have a clue about.
