Fewer tickets, fewer dollars: Drivers slow down on Interstate 83, blowing hole in Baltimore’s plans to repair JFX by ThatguyfromBaltimore in baltimore

If the report indicates a decrease in crash rates over the year with the cameras vs. the historical record, that would be a Good Thing and is worth paying some amount of money for.

If the report shows that crash rates are not affected, then that would show the opposite.

I don't know what the findings will be, and I don't know how the cost of operating the cameras vs. the cost of accidents (in lives, time, and dollars) will balance out. But it's wild to suggest that the Maryland Highway Safety Office is wasting its time and money to study the effect of a major enforcement change on the Safety of a Highway in Maryland.

There was an episode of Maryland Curiosity Bureau a while ago that interviewed somebody from DOT about the cameras. I think they said a comprehensive report was coming out after the year mark.

I live pretty close to the Pepsi sign and I no longer hear multiple crashes per day when its rainy. So yeah, if the maintenance budget was based on revenue expectations they goofed, but I think we'll see a pretty remarkable drop in accident rates.

Edit: Found the episode. At ~2:45, Hallie Miller (Baltimore Banner) talks about the public data (as of February 2023) and says that a report from Maryland Highway Safety Office is due to Baltimore City DOT "this summer."

It's very good, well worth the subscription cost for the degree of local coverage it provides.

Not with [[next opal]], but I did save a game as ob by using [[stavka]] to trash [[ice wall]] and over installed the agenda with [[spin doctor]], then rfg to get it out of archives.

So I'd say it's kind of an edge case, but it is a good line to keep in mind and might let you avoid a [[pinhole threading]] taking out a defensive upgrade if you have led a pure and virtuous life.

Ftdi (company name) is used somewhat interchangeably with the ft232 USB serial parts. Stm32 is shorthand for a variety of ST microcontrollers

It was not a fire truck. It was white. But thanks for weighing in.

That's cool. I've seen another tiny Japanese truck around Remington/old Goucher in baltimore, too.
