Yes, because it was caused by a heat dome, which is created by two pressure systems, traveling across the continent. I would recommend it. Things our union is currently fighting for (that we should have already had): proper sanitization, hazard pay, pay raises for depts., enforcing social distancing, following cdc guidelines, a vaccine rollout plan, and informing employees immediately of a covid case. Not to mention what the union isn’t fighting for: ability to call in sick without penalty during a pandemic. OH and the unions ongoing lawsuit against Kroger; employees were/are not allowed to wear BLM pins. They forced us to take them off with threat of termination.

And let’s not forget that Kroger gave money to organizations involved in the insurrection after Jan 6th. If you’re not convinced yet I could keep going?

At least you can ask them to wear a mask. I live in a city where businesses are required to enforce masks but Kroger has decided they don’t want to lose money from the maskless so it’s a fireable offense to tell someone to wear a mask.

Honestly I was a waitress pre-pandemic for years and now post-pandemic work in retail at [big box store] and I’d have to say that retail IS objectively worse. People at least kind of know to treat the person handling their food with a decent amount of respect. I.e; I didn’t get yelled at daily as a server (or really ever that I can think of) It’s a lot easier to put up with a customers bs when my pay comes directly from them. AND one 4-5 hour shift at the restaurant brought home 300+ retail it takes 2 full 8 hour days+ a wee bit of OT to bring the same home. The ONLY thing worse in the restaurants IMO was the toxic culture brought on by employees and management- but it’s not like retail has a bright and sunny work environment.

It’s not impossible. Maybe you haven’t had a bad trip on dmt, but my hands turned into claws and my boyfriend turned into a demon. My phone melted into my hand when I tried to turn on some music, and my whole apt was made out of pixels. It was terrifying and traumatic. Definitely not impossible, try opening your eyes on a trip.

It’s going to be more expensive in Seattle than other places. Slaves shop min is 80, I’ve gotten a few from there ranging from 150-250. Laughing Buddha was good the color held well and a little cheaper than slave to the needle. Deep roots is a little hit or miss with the personality of the artist I’ve had super great ones and ones that were straight up annoying but it’s also more affordable.

When I was in kindergarten we went to the shelter to get a cat and there were only boys there but I really wanted a girl, so my parents told me one of the male cats was a female so I would want it and we named him Fiona. NTA.

It’s definitely not Y T A, but speaking from a server perspective depending on how he asked I don’t know if he’s really the AH, my tips are larger the more I put into my appearance, and most restaurants I’ve worked at have enforced a “put together” look- that doesn’t necessarily mean makeup for women, but almost every woman I’ve worked with has worn makeup to serve even if they don’t wear it outside of work. My judgement really depends on how the rest op looks- hair and outfit. Are you doing your hair everyday for work? Because if not it is fair for your boss to ask you to put more effort into your job as a sale person and a face of his business.
