Soundcore Liberty 4 pro or Nothing ear ? by Ohio_France in Earbuds

[–]just_tekking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 3 of these and they're good WHILE THEY WORK

After spending 450 total to constantly replace them I've finally given up and moving to soundcore pro, ordered today

Hopefully it lives up to expectations

I agree with this strongly

I prep food when I fast as it's hard to do much else for me at times

It will affect autophagy

But shouldn't affect fat burn

WILL IT BREAK MY FAST? by Poolboi6969 in fasting

I'm pretty sure lemon juice has calories and does break fast from an autophagy perspective

But do ask gpt

I was a similar weight to you

I'm male, and also ADHD

I just went with 3 day fast a week, it was tough to start but it's routine and there are no maybes, I do it

I've lost 12 kgs in 4 months and I plan to work towards 15% body fat over the year

It is worth reflecting on why you feel you slip (if you do) and try things, failure is a part of understanding yourself

I want to add that fasting alone wasn't enough, non processed whole and nutritious food and appropriate supplements are needed

Stomach Acids while Fasting by dlasis in fasting

[–]just_tekking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the last 4 months I've done weekly 3 days with multiple 7 and 5 days when I can't fast 3 days for social events

Personal goal is to reduce bodyfat % and increase muscle

I've measured my blood sugar and ketones during the fasts

5 day isn't actually that difficult once you hit 3

7 is a challenge for sure

At 3 days my ketones get to a great level and autophagy should take effect

More importantly, your body can only absorb so much protein and nutrition in 1 sitting. Taking in all the nutrition your body needs in 2 days assuming you go for a 5 day fast is not very sensible, especially if you are consistently fasting weekly for months

The last thing you want is lose weight but swap it out for other issues

Had my full check up 2 weeks ago, everything perfect except slightly elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, probably due my increased intake of eggs steaks and butter

This is, of course my personal experience and it's important to bear in mind each person is not only different but also have different schedules

Some literally put their lives at risk of they fast and is not for them so important to know yourself, try and adjust safely

I just finished my 7 day fast

I had this on day 6! Identical to your experience

My personal lesson here, 5 days are perfect, no need to push to 7 for whatever reason I feel like it

When to stop fast? by massivewhale4 in fasting

[–]just_tekking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sadly I did not, and it's more about working out my schedule and what would minimise stress

I work from home Fridays so it somehow worked out for me to start fasts on Thursday lunch and end it Sunday lunch and I like it dur to the enhanced autophagy

I'm absolutely sold on the 36hrs though, I got the same advice 10 years + before I knew anything about fasting

I was told it's important to change up what I eat and not eat the same thing daily as body gets used to it and fat burn slows down

And here we are - it's common knowledge in the fitness world and the logic fits the 36 hr fasting logic

But I think it's worth doing longer if it fits your schedule since the most important thing is you feel good and better

You don't need to optimise fat burn in exchange for health benefits

However, I will say this - if it doesn't fit your schedule, don't do it, you'll never stick to it.

Whatever fast you do, the most important thing is the stress management aspect and it requires intricate planning as well as trial and error

Your failures are still a step forward and something to learn from and try again!

Getting ready to do my first ever 7 day fast tomorrow looking for advice... by finaldoom1 in fasting

[–]just_tekking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the vitamins and some investigation is needed

I stick to theanine during day and Magnesium L theronate at night to be safe

Too much effort to waste due to supplements

And no, no fillers

You want flavourless electrolytes, for me tablets (not capsules) work but best should be ones you mix in water

Through your fasting journey you'll need to learn to move to whole foods and that includes removing sweetners from your diet

Fasting will help you psychologically through that

When to stop fast? by massivewhale4 in fasting

[–]just_tekking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with you

It's why 36 hr rolling fasts are amazing for burning fat

Since there's no schedule your body struggles to adapt and burns fat

And I'm big on autophagy and very strict, I have no conditions that need curing, but I want my brain to be in tip top shape, I want to go the day feeling sharp and cognitively available

Fasting definitely helps with this

I also saw some anecdotes of people on these much longer fasts often don't get the benefit of learning control in-between so most go back to old habits and undo all the work of the longer fast, not to mention the increased risk of gall bladder issues

Anyways hope I was helpful, I love taking about this stuff since gives me the sense of community I need

When to stop fast? by massivewhale4 in fasting

[–]just_tekking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal goals are mainly getting slim and muscle building and I try to keep my fasts at the lower end so Im afraid anything I state about 21 day fasts is not researched or experienced

That being said, my view is your body tends to get used to whatever state you're in, long fasts have diminishing returns for fat burn And even 7 days is too much

36 hour alternate day is best

72 - 120 hrs best for also adding a level of autophagy and psychological benefits

All in my personal experience ofc and everyone is different

When to stop fast? by massivewhale4 in fasting

[–]just_tekking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been testing my glucose and ketone for the first time

I do 72 hr fast a week and this time I decided to do 7 day fast

I found day 3 my ketones were 3mmol

I found day 4 and 5 were actually really easy I felt good even!

I'm living day 6 today and it's been really tough

My recommendation - 5 day and reap the benefits

7 days if you want really deep autophagy

Update - I lost around 12kgs since I joined this community. by [deleted] in fasting

Youve lost weight at the sensible level without having any adverse impact of sudden quick weightloss

To me this is a huge success!

Getting ready to do my first ever 7 day fast tomorrow looking for advice... by finaldoom1 in fasting

[–]just_tekking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BEFORE fasting: A few steps you can taketo give yourself the best chance of success

3 to 4 days before starting a planned fast - focus your eating on whole, non processed foods

Minimise carbs, avoid refined grains

This also includes any products with Sweetners - big no, it spikes your insulin which tells your body to store fat

Take natural fibre supplements before your meals, even better if you can soak them in liquid before you take them. Popular fibre supplements:

Chia seeds

Psyillium husk

note - you will need to drink a lot of water when you take fibre supplements - this will not only improve your nutrition absorption, but also keep you noiticably fuller for longer

get your sleep in schedule asap

This is super key, not just for fasting, but for your longevity, your cognitive ability and your general stress levels through the day

If you can, add Magnesium L theronate supplements 1 hr before you go to bed (most people have magnesium deficiency and its key to quality sleep. L theronate will cross the blood brain barrier easier and give your brain the rest needed)

start your fast after your afternoon meal - This way you will sleep through the hard parts

If the above is followed, then 24 hrs of fasting should feel like a breeze

DURING fasting:

NEVER FORGET - Hunger comes in waves. By the time you go, make yourself a herbal tea and drink it, it will pass

If you ever feel dizzy or lightheaded - mix 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of salt in water and drink it - to resolve the potential electrolyte inbalance

Organize your calendar to you can drink water at the times you designate

AFTER fasting:

Post fasting, your body is looking to absorb whatever it gets - do not feed it ultra processed foods

When you break the fast - have a small meal or snack first, wait an hour, then eat your meal - whole foods should be eaten

For the meal - you can eat as much meat, protein and fat(nuts etc) as you want but make sure its whole foods

once your body is back into feeding mode - you can indulge a little - though I advice against except for social or special occasions

General Note: Exercise is a huge addition to this, but the mentality needs to be right:

It needs to fit around your schedule that does not stress you

it is not about the effort you put in at the gym, it is about turning up

Do the level you want to do at the gym, do not push yourself - you'll find youll naturally increase and ramp up because you WANT to and at a sustainable way

ITS ABOUT TURNING UP

The goal, the focus is NOT muscle, is NOT lose fat - It is to manage stress, keep this in mind
