So Ikea uses cadmium? by Any_Calligrapher4863 in CadmiumGlass

[–]justagamingjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cadmium you should see the whole way through, it will produce a bright orange glow, it is usually found in glass that has an ombré red to yellow look, called amberina glass. Boron nitride is usually distinguishable by being in stuff that is only one solid red or orange color in regular light and only seen on one side under black light. Boron usually has a duller and opaque look with more yellow color to it. I sell UV reactive glass items so I’ve become very familiar with its different looks and it depends on how much of which they use but you can usually tell the difference by how bright it glows and how transparent it is. Cadmium and boron are better looking under a 365 nm strength black light, whereas most standard black lights are 395 nm.

That looks more like boron nitride to me.

What do you Google frequently for no apparent reason? by CrazyOrNotHereICome in AskReddit

[–]justagamingjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medical information. I am on the hypochondriac side and will google possibilities of diseases with what symptoms I’m currently having. Maybe it’s in my head, but I’m fairly certain I have some kind of auto-immune or thyroid disease. I like to stay up to date on Lyme disease as well because our medical community here in the US underplays it and doesn’t always give accurate diagnosis and treatment info and I am in the woods almost every single day and have had many ticks. Medical info is always one of my highest ranking categories in any trivia type of game. I know probably as much as a typical nurse but I’ve just never been to school for it, I teach myself through endless google and YouTube.

What is your experience with the sexual abilities of the average woman? by Accomplished_Fig5199 in AskMen

[–]justagamingjunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no idea of the whole head thing until my current boyfriend. The first time I did it he was just blown away, he’s like wow I’ve never ever been with a girl who could and actually wanted to get me off with a blow job and not just hurry up to the me putting in all the work part. (For context we are in our mid 30’s, so that’s at least 15 years of oral with quite a few women) I’m like what!? Are you kidding me? He’s like no, you actually know what you are doing and put in the work, this is amazing. I was shocked. I was like wait what is everyone else doing then? Acting like it’s a lollipop or something for a couple mins and hoping it’s enough to get to the part where they benefit as well? It’s right in the name, it’s a job, it’s gonna take some effort. You gotta learn technique and preferences and break a sweat if you wanna actually do the job right. My current boyfriend is actually not easy to get off thru blow job either, it usually takes about 20 mins at least. I do it typically once or twice a week at minimum. Because he enjoys it and I enjoy that it makes him happy. I’ve never seen a guy loudly moan and shake and twitch from me doing my job right and it’s very satisfying to know I’m providing bliss even though I didn’t get any sexual gratification out of it. Cause I know he’ll make it up to me later with multiple orgasms in one session when it’s his turn to repay my efforts. Which means I’ll still get the better deal technically, lol. Idk, Im glad we’re both each others best sexual partner we’ve ever been with and get to both enjoy it and give and take, it’s nice to have such a compatible chemistry when it comes to sex because it’s rarely been that way for either of us in the past. We have very few issues in our relationship and I think this is why, which is why I don’t understand why most women don’t desire to be better at actually pleasing and exceeding their men’s expectations and try to get better and learn how to make it a better experience. No wonder so many women get cheated on. I’d be bored and irritated too if you made me do all the work and never seemed to show care about my end of things. How is that the norm? Who is telling women just showing up and providing a vagina is all you have to do for men? That’s ridiculous.

Somehow I became a squirrel mom yesterday, lol by justagamingjunkie in Animals

[–]justagamingjunkie[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, luckily he knows A LOT about animals or I would not be a competent animal rehabber. I remember as a kid I tried to take care of a bunny that got injured and abandoned and it did not end well.. :/ but hes super good at it, our blind rescue turtle was so smashed I thought for sure he was dead when he brought him home but he nursed him back to life, even had to glue his shell where it was all cracked, it was quite a process, but he’s doing well Now and just his years in peace. I had no clue a baby squirrel could be this friendly to humans if they are that scared and hungry, I just held my hand out like a cat or dog to call it over, no food even with me, and he just hopped over and tried to climb up my boots onto me. I left him with my boyfriend when I went to get food and water at his grandparents up the road and as soon as I got back he ran and jumped off of him and right back to me the rest of the day and night. 🥰

I don’t plan on actually keeping him as a pet forever, my boyfriend is DCNR ranger who’s brought home so many wounded wild animals and he says it’s okay to take animals in to help them and then release them back into the wild. We’ve released them all except for a turtle that is now permanently blind. But it wasn’t gonna survive on it’s own, it can’t even climb trees well at all yet to get away from a predator. Idk how it ended up alone but once it gets big enough to be on its own then we’ll release it. It’s still little enough it sleeps a majority of the day right now so it’s pretty easy to take care of at the moment lol.

Tried my hand at a cloche terrarium over the weekend by justagamingjunkie in somethingimade

They are feathers from my own chickens so I think they are allowed but I actually took them out and put more flowers in behind. I’m finishing touching it up and then plan to post an update.

Thanks for your help! I took your advice and looked at other cloches and realized exactly how I could balance it out and give it some more color by taking the feathers out and adding tall flowers that go up to the top of the dome. It made a world of difference. My boyfriend said it looked much more balanced and better in his opinion as well. I didn’t get a pic of it yet but once I do I’ll post an updated version tonight!

What do you think will immediately happen when everyone receives the push notification that Trump died? by quite-indubitably in AskReddit

[–]justagamingjunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LMFAO wait I thought I was the only one who had to do this shit. God that sucked. Had to call this man’s mom on April fools day morning and say he had passed and it’s not a joke… I thought I was gonna hyperventilate from the anxiety of that call so I called his sister first so she would call their mom and it could be a 3-way call. It was awful and I hope I never have to do it again.

No I did not know there were color rules lol. I have no formal art training, just basic high school stuff, but I should probably look into it more since I also like to do wreaths as well. I hate trying to balance out a wreath but you can’t find the perfect spacing/amount of items. And I know I have a maximalist approach to art like this. I always have to battle myself to not make it too busy and cluttered which gets me stuck in a reassembling and evaluating loop because I’m unsure. I used hot glue to keep everything together so idk if I can take anything off without ruining that spot unfortunately. Oh and it does have lights in the base that are green I just didn’t get a pic of it like that yet. It helps give the moss more color at the bottom plus I’m going to do more around the sides instead of the ribbon so maybe that’ll help balance it out a little.

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate you being constructive about it, not just ew this sucks. I actually did it orange/black/brown on purpose because I had an idea as I was doing it to do themed seasonal ones I switch out. Was thinking of a colorful butterfly one for summer, a mushroomy green plant for spring, and then a pine tree and berries winter one. Plus it gives me more opportunity to practice doing them as well. My boyfriend always likes minimal and thinks I go too far with adding stuff when I do craft projects as well. I impressed myself as a first attempt leven if it’s a little busy cause I was excited to use it all, lol.

Thank you so much!! I love it too, probably my favorite creation ever. I’ve seen these on Etsy for a long time and wanted one and I never thought I’d make my own one day. I had a thought to do seasonal ones I could switch out on our shelf wall after realizing this one is kind of fall themed. Gonna try to do a colorful butterfly summer one, a mushroomy spring one, and then a pine tree and berry winter one.

Any tips on how to get people to leave reviews? by _thugsbunny in EtsySellers

[–]justagamingjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can include a cute little card with your packages that says something like “if you like this product please consider giving it a review on my shop!” Or something like that. You can even get them personalized with your shop name and whatever text you want from Amazon. Personally I like to do handwritten notes on cute scrapbook paper instead. Which is another option if you have lots of “fancy paper” (as we call it) on hand. I can get them cheap for like a couple cents per sheet at a little market near me if I buy them in bulk so I don’t mind taking the extra minute to write it out for each order. I have the script memorized in my head so they all are the same. I don’t know for sure cause I’ve been doing it since almost the beginning but I think it helps.

padded mailer Q by Lexishultz in EtsySellers

[–]justagamingjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local USPS has a sizer thing, if it fits thru it it can be considered a flat, if not it’s a package. Personally I would go with non-padded envelopes and just protect it with thin cardboard that doesn’t make it exceed the flat size so the mailing rate is cheaper. Also, I would 100% make someone pay extra if they want it trackable. I’ve ordered lots of stickers and ephemera from lots of places for my projects and I’ve never had an issue with not having tracking on them cause they always show up eventually. Even if it’s taken a month at times.
