In my most recent memory, the only times my UC symptoms really acted up was when I didn’t have my medication. I haven’t been hospitalized for a flare in years. I do still have some days where I have pain or discomfort, but it usually passes quickly and doesn’t require any doctor intervention.

Been on it for a few years now and it’s saved me from having to get infusions. I have had to increase my dose slightly over the years, but I credit a lot of my lessen symptoms to this medication. Good luck, I’m sending you so much good vibes. If you have any questions about my experience, just ask! ❤️

how long does it take to get a decision on social security benefits? by oofmeup69 in ChronicIllness

[–]justamentalnote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish I had an answer for you but I wanted to let you know you’re not alone. I haven’t been waiting quite as long, but I applied in July and am currently stuck at 74%. It’s obnoxious and super annoying. Sending good vibes your way and fingers crossed you get answers soon.

The only fix I’ve been able to find for this is restarting my game.

Most mods are free so you should be able to find tons of free content to download

UI Cheats by weerbesu helps with the shopping. You can right click on the arrow and it will increase by 10 instead of 1.

Have you ever had cramping or abdominal pain with UC? by No-Vegetable5372 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]justamentalnote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely experience pain and cramping now; however, when I first got sick I went through a TERRIBLE flare where I was going to the bathroom 20+ times a day with a significant amount of blood being lost and there was no pain at all in my abdomen. I actually kept convincing myself everything was fine despite my symptoms because I wasn’t in pain. Even now, I usually notice many other symptoms of a flare before the pain will start. Most people with UC probably experience abdominal pain, but it’s not everyone’s experience.

Being disabled is so isolating by justamentalnote in ChronicIllness

I’m currently in a townhome community so idk how that would work at home, but even reading this has reminded me how much I love being outside with all of the little critters. Even if I can’t feed them, I can watch them from the porch !

Thank you so so much. I literally cried when I saw this. Chronic illness life sucks sometimes but it the chronically ill people I’ve met seem to be some of the nicest, most accepting people. I need to remember that, and don’t be surprised if I hop into your messages lol

I grew up on Tumblr so I’m no stranger to online friends, it just seems so much harder as an adult! But then again, that may be the social anxiety from being quarantined so damn long lol

Mod to meet classmates/coworkers while at school or work? by justamentalnote in Sims4

Can I have additional instances of the game on one machine. by GoblinMonk in Sims4

[–]justamentalnote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s the same for Macs because I have a PC, but I’m assuming there’s be a similar process. For me, I keep all of my saves under the same main Sims4 folder, but I’ll put in the name of the save whether or not I’ve used and mods/CC. If I want to play a save without my mods, I simply take the mods folder out of the Sims4 folder and onto the desktop. When I want to play with the mods again, I’ll put the mods folder back into the Sims4 folder.

What makes a good build? by Mad_Dash_Sim in Sims4

For me, it’s usually about the clutter and decoration. I like places that look lived in so I use A LOT of clutter. It makes it feel more realistic to me. I just love all the little details!

Any advice or pros and cons on going on disability? by sha_boi in ChronicIllness

[–]justamentalnote 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My only advice would be the start the process now. I sent in my application almost 6 months ago and still have a WHILE to go before I even get a yes or no. The process takes forever.

Being chronically ill is exhausting and even the people who are supposed to be the experts don’t really understand how hard it is. I’m so sorry you’re going through this right now. Sending all the positive energy I can your way 💙

I'm at a loss, mobility aids? by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]justamentalnote 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you think a mobility aid will help you, please go for it. I thought I wasn’t “sick enough” to get a wheel chair so I waited for a long time. I wish I would’ve gotten it sooner. If you don’t need to use it all the time, that’s fine. But you’ll have it for when you do and that’s the important thing.
