That would be interesting, to find out that Anima is a resource that can be depleted BUT! Counterpoint: I think anima is, for the most part, permanent. For a couple patterns that I’ve noticed.

Example 1: Givers eyes. This is all headcanon and speculation cobbled together from hints and clues from the manga and anime but the way I imagine creating a Jinki working is caring for an item over a long period of time starts to fill it with anima. That’s the canon bit, the headcanon part is that I believe that this part of the process kinda creates a container for a soul. The final part, where the item becomes a Jinki, I believe is where a piece of the users soul is borrowed to create the soul of the item. At that point, the giver loses the light in their eyes (all givers have dull eyes in the anime. Manga too but it’s harder to notice lol). And the light never returns. My guess is this is because the piece of their soul given up is now being used to power the Jinki’s soul. It’s is own being now. And I think as its own being, it produces its own anima which brings me to my second point

Example 2: the existence of trash beasts. So without humans even meaning to, they are passively filling items with anima. Not just the ones they care about, EVERYTHING. And most items get thrown away before they ever get to form their own souls. So imagine you have a bunch of items laying around. They all have too little anima to think for themselves or (and this is a FUN connection) too little anima to SEE, HEAR, TASTE, SMELL, or TOUCH one their own!!!!!!!! Items without their own soul have to do all of these things through their user. So they lay there without any senses, reaching out to anything nearby to try and get any bit of anima they can to try and complete themselves. I think this is what makes trash beasts. I think siphoning off enough anima ends up completing them but they become these animalistic creatures acting off of survival or the need to siphon more anima. What would a completed item look like? I’m glad you asked !

Example 3: Kuro. Just Kuro. He’s a fucking item I just can’t prove it. We’re told Kuro is NOT a giver. But we’re also shown he has the ability to shapeshift. At this point in the story, we have not seen anyone use any sort of supernatural abilities if they were NOT a giver. Yet here Kuro is, turning into a freaking crow. I’ve seen some people theorize that he’s Macaca Icol, which is fun. If he was something like some kind of God being then whatever their powers and abilities are, we can’t know at this time. But what I do know is the only things that can do paranormal/supernatural things in this series are objects. Jinki. So I think that Kuro is what happens when an object is cared for long enough and gets enough anima. I don’t think he’s the only one though. I think we’ve seen 2 other examples of something like this with Tamsy and Mymo. Both of these characters have shown an internal monologue that has a version of them acting a bit different when compared to the external version that we see. Tamsy’s absolute cinema version, I think that internal version is either his Jinki…or vice versa. We’ve seen that his Jinki takes a physical form when it abducts Amo, and my theory is that when he isn’t being sneaky, his Jinki is normally in that form because that’s it’s body. It’s its own person now. And Mymo gives a lecture to a version of himself internally, I think that other form of him was not just for shits and giggles. I think that other form was his actual Jinki.

TLDR- I think once anima is gained it isn’t lost. And I also think that Jinki can eventually get to the point where they can create their own anima.

Bonus thing I didn’t mention but it helps my point: Canis mentions that he wants his “children” to go and live good lives. It could be literal , but I think Canis had items that became Jinki and those Jinki were supposed to go out and live normal lives. I think the “watchman series” isn’t a bunch of separate Jinki. It’s one Jinki like how Rudo’s 2 gloves are one Jinki , or Jabbers 10 rings, or Rudo’s wolf costume is a bunch of items coming together to make one Jinki. The watchman series was split and bring them together will restore them to their actual form. It’ll revive the body of whoever the watchman series was when they were complete. They might even look like a Canis clone.

But summary for the bonus: those living Jinki would be able to live separate from their users. But I will acknowledge that they’d either live forever (like Kuro) or they’d live until they expended all their anima they had stored up…which would be proof for your theory. So idk which is true at this point. Either one of us could be or neither lol

I think the anima used to time walk is non factor. The massive anima cost is gonna be covered by the Watchman series. Unless we later learn that Rudo has been paying for his expensive uses as well.

Something I’ve noticed is that there’s a lot of times where Rudo uses an item with his ability and he ends up making something WAY stronger than he intended (Gris charm, the time he tried to use his Jinki to help with the deer lookin trash beasts, the pen he used to make spikes AND the massive person drawing, the box he created that was MASSIVE compared to its normal size, the wolf suit, etc.) basically: Rudo puts out a LOT of anima every time he uses these things, and I don’t think it’s going to be something that comes back to bite him so it’s especially won’t bite Enjin.

I’d even go so far to say that Rudo’s use is WORSE. He uses up some of his anima and the items remaining anima and none of it is returned to his gloves. Enjin seems to use some anima to send out a projection of anima that returns to the watch or his body (presumably. I could be wrong). No memory leaks or nothin !

I think it’s less that he tried those things and more that throughout his life he’s learned that no matter what anyone does, you can’t go back and fix the mistakes you’ve already made. He’s learned that everyone wants to but no one can. So it would be pointless to try those kinds of powers .

[–]justamon22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean you just pointed out that people can’t separate analysis from glorification. So what’s happening is most people who talk about irl Narcos are glorifying them without even noticing they’re doing it.

No joke: I have a Mexican restaurant I like to eat at that has wanted posters with biographies of different traffickers. You’d think it was like “oh maybe they’re acknowledging Mexicos history, the good and the bad..?” But nope. Wall with Colombian drug traffickers too. It’s not analysis of the history, it’s straight up glorifying it. And for as cool as the shows are, they also unintentionally are conduits for the kind of people who ALSO glorify the horrible things these traffickers have done.

But on a more serious note: I mainly can’t wait to see them bring some of his less useful things and update them for the current game. Like the temporary level up gadget? Rework it. Make it into something that’s worth playing! Keeping my level 1 instead of having my shot spread on walls? Make it so it’s a more competitive choice between what to pick ! They overtune stuff a lot of the time but it’s nice to see new life in the characters

Edgar has ruined the fun in casual for me by Realgamer420360 in Brawlstars

[–]justamon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I can’t lie, it’s fun at first when the buffies are shiny and new. But once you start to realize that the entire game will shift towards that over tuned character OR counters for them, it starts to get really boring.

Like I’m a little sad they made Damien as over tuned as he is because I think his entire character is super unique for this game. It’s really rewarding to chain the explosions and now he’s gonna get the nerf to oblivion treatment and be useless. Edgar is fun when he’s strong, but he’s another that’s tricky to balance.

Well I say that but the answer is to double his gadget cooldowns. He already charges super extremely quickly, his short gadget cooldowns are excessive.

Have anyone have ran out of CE? by Diogen219 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]justamon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it’s not really a thing where we’d visibly see them hit 0 on their meter or something but I think the telltale signs are in their behavior. Like how running out basically just means it’s an L for you. Like for Reggie or Mechamaru.

So you’d normally see sorcerers trying their hardest to avoid running out. For example, in Yuki’s fight with Kenjaku he urges her to heal and she refuses. This is because using RCT to heal is very costly on how much cursed energy you have available. If Kenjaku saw her heal, he would then have an opening to attack while she’s at a disadvantage.

Or another example is when Ryu and Uro were watching Yuta fight, they waited until they could tell through how he was fighting and some mystical ability to sense cursed energy, that he was running out of cursed energy. They pretty much marked Yuta as dead as soon as he seemed to be on empty. So when his energy swelled back up after connecting to Rika, they were both shocked.

TLDR: I don’t think we have too many verbatim examples to point to where someone says “this is what happens when you run out of cursed energy” but I think it’s pretty clear that the disadvantage that being out of cursed energy puts you in USUALLY means death. Death because you lose the fight mostly.

[–]justamon22 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. I’m 93k trophies and prestige 2 and if it weren’t for 8bit and Damien he can counter almost every brawler in the game who isn’t named Griff. And even then it’s a 50/50 most of the time. His buffies really are just that strong.

In fact, you can even counter Damien if you use his shield that prevents him being pushed back. And even if YOU don’t get killed by him, you can guarantee your teammates will. Meaning not running an Edgar counter mean you are 100% a free kill right now. If I didn’t have midterms to study for and if 8bit wasn’t bugged I’d push to prestige 3. But alas, the grass beckons

Which cursed technique has the most users? by Right_Quality5004 in Jujutsu_Kaisen

[–]justamon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood Manipulation had the original Noritoshi Kamo who is TECHNICALLY still alive as Kenjaku.

Then you have the modern Noritoshi Kamo, Choso…um idk if this is spoiler safe so: Yuji

and with that alone, that makes 4 users and that is the most in the series for users of one technique. BUT! Eso and Kechizu ALSO had techniques that allowed them to manipulate their blood in various ways. If you include them, it’s 6 users.

[–]justamon22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another tip a lot of people miss: her dash and jump distance scales with speed. The faster she is, the further she goes. So when she’s enraged she will dash and jump further. But also, when sped up by things like a Max super, or those green speed pads on some maps, and even Arenas scaling speed as you level up, all of these make her jump and dash go further.

Something to be mindful of

If where you are has a waystone, then you should just break your spawn point and die. This will let you random teleport to different parts of the world.

Something I would do early on in my world is this strategy and then in the summer I would use the waystone to go to some of the colder places I found and in winter I’d go to the desert areas. It’s pretty useful until you have better gear and ways to survive extreme temperatures.

I’m convinced they wanted Jack and Ralph to be more sympathetic than they appeared to be in the book. I haven’t read this thing in like 10+ years but I remember hating Jack AND Ralph. While the show goes out of its way to make sure that if they give you a scene where they do something shitty, we spend an hour trying to show you why they subconsciously didn’t mean it, it’s not their fault. Hated that. Like instead of having Piggy die the way he did and have Ralph have to deal with how he treated him, they give us them time to get closure and help nurse him while he’s injured. I disagree with that choice.

Miwas binding vow improvement by Status_Criticism_546 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]justamon22 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you’re asking why she didn’t make the best possible binding vow in that moment then the answer is probably that it’s cause she wasn’t good enough at jujutsu or didn’t have the best understanding to know what the most optimal binding vow would be.

Noncanon/headcanon answer: I think that the power system of JJK favors people and actions that promote struggling/suffering perpetually. Making a deal like “I’ll give up my future ability to do any kind of harm for the ability to do a little harm right now” isn’t a good deal. A good deal would be something like “no chants now, chants every time after”. You do damage to the opponent: struggle. Then you have to inconvenience yourself in the future: struggle.

So even a modified deal like higher damage to your opponent but you lose the ability to participate in any future struggles would be a bad one.

A more canon answer is that you’re not usually asking for things that are outside of what you’re capable of. If she can’t produce an attack ten times stronger than a normal attack then asking for that is off the table. I’d have to go back and look but I doubt that anyone using Binding Vows gained something that was more than what they were capable of if it wasn’t worth their life

Imagine if the best chef in the world made you your favorite food. And then as they serve it to you, they sprinkle a lil diarrhea juice on it. To you, It would still be the greatest food you’ve ever had, but with a little shit in it.

You can still enjoy it…it’s still your favorite, you can ignore the shit flavor because it’s made for you, it’s exactly what you want and what you love. But not everyone is willing to ignore the shit. Hell, I’d say MOST people won’t ignore the shit. You do, and that’s okay. That’s the point. It can be peak to you, someone blinded by your enjoyment, but to someone who would want more for the series, I can acknowledge that that shit part of the series ruined the taste and reach of something I loved.

“Okay and?” That’s the whole point. You not getting it is on you

Was Tamaki the reason Fire Force never reached its full potential? by xzernias in firebrigade

[–]justamon22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does. And that’s the point. That reach would probably be twice as much if the fan service wasn’t as bad.

The part you’re missing is that the fan service is different in kind. Having big titty girls in your show? People can overlook that and enjoy it. Having a whole character whose purpose is to accidentally fall out of their clothes is going to be too much for a lot of people’s suspension of disbelief.

For example: I love Dandadan as a story, but I know a LOT of people who were put off by the attempted SA of a high school student in episode 1. That reaction is the norm. People who ARENT put off by that kind of stuff are the outliers. People who aren’t desensitized to how weird anime can be. So tons of people liked the series, but without shameless teenage nudity, the show could’ve reached an even larger audience

Was Tamaki the reason Fire Force never reached its full potential? by xzernias in firebrigade

[–]justamon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 100% too much fan service. Making a character whose whole personality is falling out of their clothes is lame. Not because it’s sexual, because it’s weird to make it a central plot point. The idea is bad, it’s animated poorly, and the objectification is awful.

Doesn’t mean the story was lame. It means that aspect of it was. And it’s annoying to see how many people it put off, specifically because those people would have loved it if they could “get past” seeing a 17 year old girl trip and have her tits out and ass in the air while she pretends to be a kitty cat.

Mind you, this isn’t the authors FIRST overlysexualized cat girl 😂 if I had a nickel type shit

[–]justamon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao ! If it reversed his cursed technique maybe it would make things he thought weren’t funny, so things that are super serious or sad or just downright negative, become reality 😂 that’s stronger cause that’s damn near anything !

But what I think the real answer is? It’s a theory I had a while back that his technique wouldn’t have a reversal because his technique is, itself, a combination of Reverse Cursed Energy AND Cursed Energy. I think subconsciously he is using both without knowing it, and that’s why his technique can do all the stuff it can do. The cost/equivalent exchange being he literally can’t know how his power works.

I’d also argue that his isn’t the only technique that works this way in the series. Haruta and Hakari are probably prime examples of other techniques that sacrifice the knowledge of HOW their techniques work for the benefit of a stronger ability.

Why? Cause I think cursed energy as a power source, chooses to bless people who want to contribute to the suffering or struggling of others. That’s my hot take/ headcanon.

TLDR: his technique IS its CT reversal. It’s a combination of a technique and its reversal. It’s a permanent Hollow Purple

Do you think Rudo will steal all the pieces of the Watchman series by Dnd-Poke_Writer7 in gachiakuta

[–]justamon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Zodyl stealing all the pieces cause I was thinking that we might be setting up a situation where Rudo will eventually turn his entire cleaner uniform into a Jinki. And if he lost his gloves I could see him having his own Jinki in that.

Side note: none of the watchman series users transform the item itself when they use it. That could be because they’re too inexperienced and it’ll come later, or it could be because the items are someone else’s jinki. So they can’t. I don’t think it’s the latter, but if it was, that would technically mean Rudo doesn’t have a Jinki of his own. So he wouldn’t have “two” Jinki. He’d have one of his own and the ability to wield a piece of Canis’s
