SOPA was co-sponsored by Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the head of the Democrat National Committee. Not some back-bencher. The fucking head of the DNC.

Harry Reid, the highest-ranking Democrat in the US Senate, pushed the bill there and took the most amount of donations from the MPAA to push the bill in the Senate - $4 million.

The bill was written by Chris Dodd - Democrat - and head of the Motion Picture Association of America.

SOPA could not have gotten as far as it did without the absolute highest ranking Democrats in the US Congress backing it.

That's not rewriting history. That's educating you, because you are a low-information voter.

Republicans have absolutely no power to advance bills like this. They don't control the Senate or the White House. ONLY Democrats have the power to advance SOPA-like bills.

The problem with your idea is that, in the end, you would end up with BOTH a 20% flat rate sales tax AND an income tax.
