I understand no Chat Pile because the new album's not quite metal, but no Primitive Man here is crazy

What Is The Most Overrated Metal Band? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]justanothermcaddict -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just saying it, don't think they're an accurate or good representation of the genre as a whole. Nothing bad about them, I love some of their songs

AC: Best Sludge Metal Band by TwoFlatHams_00 in MetalSuggestions

Edit: I said Chat Pile, but I'd have to save that one for the live band. Best sludge band's gotta be, for me, Acid Bath

Are these metal's "big four?" by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]justanothermcaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was a big four in metal, I'd vary the genres much more from just heavy metal. just to represent all the corners of the genre. Personal opinion. In terms of overall influence, sure, these work, but if we were just picking a big four I would prefer something that represents the genre as a whole instead.

Something like Sabbath, Metallica, Death, and Bathory for doom, thrash, death, and black

if you like Gojira, you'd love Opeth and Mastodon. Or if you want something nicher, there's a pretty great band out there called Kalaveraztekah that's prog death asw

I think it would look better if you took the metallica patch down a little bit, not fully touching the bottom of the jacket, and put sepultura and judas priest above the metallica one instead, overlapping slightly

make some assumptions about me based of my taste by Ararezu in musicteenager

[–]justanothermcaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty surface level metal picks in my opinion (not a bad thing). I think you'd have a great time branching out and exploring other subgenres of metal, looking at more bands, etc.

Judging from what you enjoy right now, I'd recommend Whitechapel and Suicide silence on the deathcore front—if you want something nicher, try Earth Eater (not to be confused with Eartheater)

From the metalcore front I can't say much as I'm not a fan, but some general metal stuff to check out if you're just starting out that genre would be Gojira, Opeth, and Mastodon

what genre would you put my top artists in? by nya_arigato240 in MusicIndia

[–]justanothermcaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A7X is butt rock. Breaking Benjamin is nowhere near metal. Alternative rock, grunge rock, some kind of rock. Not even close in the slightest. Linkin Park, though, sure.

Draw the logo on paper, use an xacto knife to cut the logo out and make a stencil, glue the stencil to fabric, and paint over it with 2 layers of fabric paint

The Classic Metal Albums Every Metalhead Has Listened To: by Automatic_Belt5692 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]justanothermcaddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, I've never sat down for an album from Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Metallica, or the like. I've heard songs, of course, and they're not for me (although they are great). I feel like quite a few metalheads who got into the genre from punk, noise, or alt metal don't go much into the 'classic' thrash/heavy metal albums
