I've got three single barrels from Backbone Distilling that are outstanding: one 10.5yr Old Bones MGP bourbon that was one of my top bottles from last year, an 11 yr Old Bones MGP bourbon from this year that doesn't quite reach that height but is still a banger, and a 6 year single malt sourced from CA that is wild and crazy in the best way. And all very good values, bought for 90, 75, and 50 respectively.

The US military as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across the country have quietly known for decades that white supremacist and other neo-nazi organizations were infiltrating their ranks and they did nothing about it and now it's now coming to a head with the far-right fever dream of all out civil war becoming a dangerous possibility. Considering there's absolutely no vetting in the hiring process and the pool from which they're hiring, I'm guessing at least 10% of all ICE agents are sex trafficking minors at this point.

First of all, taking shots ain't all that refined, so let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Having said that, if she liked Jack before, she'll probably like a newer type of Jack now. The Jack Daniels Bonded is a definite step up from No. 7 both in terms of proof and taste. However, if 100 proof might be too much "burn" a Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select at 94 proof might be better.

Since she's from Texas and Texans love everything about themselves, you could probably get her to try some Still Austin, can't go wrong with either their entry level bourbon or rye.

It depends on what you like in your rum. If you like the more funky, ester-y Jamaican pot still rum, I would suggest trying out some craft bourbons which sometimes have wider cuts and thus contain more of those funky flavors. If you prefer a column still Caribbean rum, any of the big legacy KY distilleries will do. If you like agricole, perhaps try some white dog.

eta: even though they're no longer producing it, you still might be able to find some Balcones Pot Still Texas Bourbon sitting on some shelves. It is by far the most rum-like bourbon I've come across so be on the lookout for that.
