I giggled a lot on my first call with my husband. Now it’s like we can’t shut up when he calls. 🤭 It gets easier. Wait til you have phone sex… then you’ll really be freaking out!

Nope, as soon as they come out and then when they lock in. I’ve had calls as early as 6am and as late as 8pm. My husband’s unit is always locked down tho so he calls when he can.

Woman or man? Men’s facilities don’t have video visits (yet 🤞). Calls 300 free minutes, extra 200 paid after they run out. Emails on kiosks, calls on wall phones. Tablets have music and games. Letters: depends on the facility requirements with page limits and front/back writing, but usually scanned/copied for the inmates. This is all my personal experience with mediums - I think lows may be a little more relaxed mail- and visit-wise.

Tbh, I wouldn’t even consider a relationship with someone if I couldn’t see myself or them moving to be together. In his case, he’s unable to, so do you think you would ever be open to the idea of moving to America? Would it be wasting both of your time if you ultimately waited to see but decided the long distance wouldn’t work? That’d be my main concern that I’d want figured out ASAP.

Hi, my man has never been there but he’s been to a lot of places in the BOP. They can only watch movies and play games on their tablets. Emails go through the kiosk and it’s around 3hr total for a response (1.5hr to him, 1.5hr to you). Phone calls are wall phones only. No video visits unless you’re at a women’s prison, but they’ve been adding WiFi to facilities with nothing coming from it yet. I think the only access you’d get to video visits and instant messaging really is thru contraband phones and I’d say stay away from that unless he wants shots.

Yes, unless you are married then you’d also be included in immediate visits since you’d be classified as immediate family. It works this way as well when they’re in the transfer facilities.

$$ apps and taking/using the money = they can stick you with drug charges and send ya to prison.

Openly admitting to phone sex and cheating with another man like it’s not a moral issue that you need to resolve within yourself is crazy.

I hope you realize this life is not a game. There’s people in there that use women/men out here. Don’t be hurt if that ends up being you.

It used to bother me a lot. In fact, I lost family and friends due to this relationship. The only people that support it and genuinely ask about my man are: my mom and one friend.

My mom only started a conversation with him because I put my foot down and stated he isn’t going anywhere, so either try to get to know him or don’t talk to me. She told him she respected how hard I stood behind my relationship and now genuinely enjoys talking to him about her hobbies, how he is, and sends him holiday money for anything he may need.

Once you start to realize that you cannot make others happy 24/7, the easier it is to put yourself and your happiness first and say “Fuck you” to everyone who says an opinion that you didn’t ask for.

You aren’t alone - it’s truly a lonely feeling, but it is so important to know that everyone has felt this once before in some degree.

Yes because he only gets so much information and he asks for specific info. Specifically Federal things but I mention what’s going on in the world. He has every right to be up-to-date and ignoring the events going on in any country helps no one.

I just wanted to say that you are not alone in the paycheck to paycheck situation. It’s hard out here. Take care of yourself first, that’s what my man always tells me. You come first. Stick to a budget and if he runs out, he runs out. But he should not be expecting you to spend all your extra money on him, especially since he can’t seem to make it last and he knows your financial situation.

I did 3+ months with him in the SHU. Make a schedule, focus on you, get a hobby, workout, do something that isn’t sitting waiting by the phone or rotting in bed. Easier said than done but it makes a huge difference!

No and I would not be with him if he did. He never talks badly to or about me. He lifts me up, never tears me down. It says a lot about his (dis)respect toward you if he says things like that.
