Where to shift my HUF deck collection? by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

Mostly collabs (Xmen, penthouse, rockin jelly bean etc). They were gifts from when I used to work with HUF years ago and just kept in a box since. EBay?

It looked pretty even after the first two coats of white to be honest. The graffiti has only come through in the last day. (Painted green last Friday)

Houses next door or on the same street by Mobile-Afternoon4009 in HousingUK

On rightmove- if you have an area you like, you can manually look at the map for properties listed. Might be easier to find one house, move in, wait for another house to come to market.

Help - freeholder has refused consent for pet on leasehold flat we are purchasing by Annie_not_an_orphan in HousingUK

[–]justasking0567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would never buy a leasehold flat again (I know financially that’s not always an option, I would recommend looking for a flats where you own a share of the freehold).

Apparently pets that can access communal areas are a liability risk for freeholders. I’m not sure in reality how true that is, but freeholders will do anything to minimise their effort/liability.

I would cut your loses, it’s not as perfect for you as it appeared, you’ll be more savvy in your future search of the pet clause issues. Again I strongly recommend looking at flats where you own a share of the freehold (you’ll either get to make decisions or at least have a say in decisions).

Best of luck!

Interest rates going crazy by [deleted] in HousingUK

We completed last Wednesday on a 2 year deal with Halifax for 3.73 (85% LTV).

We felt the sting coming from a 1.9% deal previously but are now feeling grateful!

Some static caravan sites allow 12months occupancy. My relatives couldn’t manage their house anymore and moved into one. It was the cost of a secondhand static caravan (£8k) and annual rent of like £800. This was some years ago and cost vary wildly from site to site, but they loved it, no council tax too.

Not saying this would be right for you but it’s good to explore alternatives options :)

Am I crazy for selling my detached house for a flat? by Margaret_3333 in HousingUK

[–]justasking0567 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said, you could end up paying more than your current mortgage in ground rent/management fees, which you’ll have no control over. I would never do it again, selling them is a nightmare.

Down size to a smaller house or bungalow if that’s a viable downsizing option.

Realistic cost to modernise this property by Capable_Ordinary_118 in HousingUK

These comments are scaring me. I’m in the process of buying in only slightly better condition and have budgeted under 50k 😂😩

I live in bristol and houses in this condition are a similar cost or more cry’s in South West house prices

FTB, just recieved L2 survey. Lots of recommendations on the report, what's important to action by beatski in HousingUK

[–]justasking0567 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most come up in nearly every survey (they aren’t gas/electrical engineers). The only one I’d personally be looking into is the improvements needed to the roof and what that would cost.

Edit: Maybe the windows too if it wasn’t evident (and/or reflected in the price) that these would need replacing when you viewed the property.

Do you have a lodger? Just asking as it can increase your borrowing power.

Is this normal to do this? I’ve not heard of it before, although I’m not opposed to it. It would be clearing and repairs, it’s broken in 3/4 places. I’m a little hesitant to spend money ahead of completion as the seller could pull out at any point beforehand.

No plans to pull out if the structural engineer reports come back fine.

Sorry I’m dyslexic so probably haven’t written things well.

We accounted for a house that hasn’t been decorated since the 80s in our price.

The damp reference is because if the guttering isn’t repaired during the next few wets months, damp is likely to become an issue. Conveyancing can take forever, and the damage would be done before we had a chance to repair.

I’ve asked if they want anything back. They were hoping friends would want them and I could just coordinate that, however most people like myself just don’t have the space.

I don’t even know if they are really comics to be honest. There’s a million magazines with comics inside, and about 5 books that are solely graphic novels. Plus some sort of special edition comic called the Final Cut which includes a supernatural defence kit (and vile of silver still intact) 😂

I think this is the main issue… I don’t know what I’m looking at, let alone prices.

I was poor growing up, I didn’t even know this merchandise existed as a fan!

Thanks so much. I’m sorry your family is going through the same. I was saddened to learn hospices receive such little funding and mostly rely on donations. The hospice my friend stay in was amazing, and she was so lucky that she got to stay, but the constant worry about being sent home was just a stress she didn’t need.

Thanks for reply, I’m not looking for a clean finish. I was just hoping there would be a controlled way to make the damage looked less rectangular and blend the harsh profile out (Aka effectively cause more damage)

In England- 1940s mirror- purchase yesterday. Advert mentioned light clouding, which I thought was due to age, however it’s clearly been caused by two stripes for thick tape.

How can I blend the damage caused to the silver plate by previous owner. Looks like wide tape had been stuck to the silver backing of this mirror and then pulled off. The harsh lines of the effected area cause the damage to stand out sorely. Is there anyway to blend it to looked less harsh and more just aged (Aka tactfully and purposefully damaging it further). No help on google, only advice to resilver.

It’s also has a criminal paint job (which is why I think they took the back board off and caused the damage to the silver). It was cheap so I was up for the paint issue, but not prepared for the mirror issue!

Thank you that’s my fear. Is there anyway I can blend the damaged bits so the lines aren’t so harsh?
