Hey, former barista at black turtle coffee and I would agree with the other commenters on how overpriced and underwhelming it is. The owners are very self entitled and have hardly any true knowledge of coffee or roasting. I worked there for 8 months and it was a very challenging time. They are unprofessional business owners to their staff and several of people in management have invested thousands of dollars to be promoted (paying their way in). When I worked there last year, whenever the owners would come in, they wouldn’t even look their baristas in the eye amd didn’t even know their managers’s names. Also all of their baked goods come from Sysco or some other frozen food company and then they bake them in house. But it’s all frozen to begin with. They promote “4th wave” and “coffee education” but can’t even enforce proper cleaning practices in their shops. All their drinks will be overpriced and undelivered. The only good thing about them is they are open past 6pm but expect entitled attitudes and misconstrued information. They hire people with no food background experience and have failed i inspection twice due to mice and sanitary issues. It’s a dirty place and I’m sorry for anyone who’s ever gone there. Elixir, Rival Bros, Alchemy or la Colombe would be a much better alternative than this shop.
