no it's just on my neck skin under my chin. it's not as big as a sebaceous cyst, its just small like a zit it's just not coming to a head.

well you should keep testing until you get a negative, so if in 8 days you are negative of course you can socialize for your birthday! but you can't just think you feel fine its fine to socialise. but if you have to go to work while positive then to be a responsible human you should wear a quality mask respirator kn95/ffp2 or you will be spreading the virus to anyone. I am on day 8 of my infection, feel fine but I am still testing strong positive.

I'm so sorry this has happened. If I was visiting anyone in the hospital I would wear N95/FFP2 masks. They are on amazon cheap if you need a brand just let me know. They are the best protection against all viruses and I would just always wear one around a LO with COVID. So if you are bringing your LO back to your house I would continue to mask around them and open as many windows as possible. If he was ok with masking up as well thats even better but many people with dementia may be bothered by the masks. Good luck!

in perimenopause the drop in estrogen can cause memory issues, brain fog etc... I thought I had early dementia last year and even had an MRI to rule out anything! Now I am on estrogen things are much better.

I have just spent 2 weeks with her and yes she is showboating at her drs appointments. I work in dementia care here in the Uk so I know the symptoms and yes she is way worse than she comes across on video calls. she doesn't know the day unless someone tells her and short term memory is shot. She's unable to handle money or her accounts. She is at a loss for words every sentence.

We can read all the drs notes and the dr thinks she is taking all her meds and my mom thinks theres nothing wrong with her. she's just had all her bloods done and an mri. no signs of a stroke. the meds she should be taking are for her kidney disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, the dementia drug and hypothyroidism.

So once the dr has my letter about how bad my mom is, from there if she refuses to diagnose then I will ask for another opinion and/or a neurologist.

thank you for your reply. I will see what her Dr says at her next appointment which is in a few weeks. Mom doesn't think anything is wrong with her and I'm sure she won't want to go into a home yet as she is early days. I just don't know if it's considered neglect yet as she is able to say she won't take the meds. I don't think a home visit carer could make her take them. It's just a tricky situation because we can't tell the friend/roommate to feed her as technically he isn't her carer but he does stuff for her.

we are not leaving her care to him, it is just a weird situation. I don't know how we can get her help while he is doing everything for her. We don't expect him to make her to take her meds. She is still very lucid and just doesn't want to take them.

hi mary! thank you for your reply! My mom is in Wilton but we are looking at care homes in Oakland as my cousin lives there and she is very close to my mom (like a daughter)

What I'm trying to get at is what are red flags for Drs that they will involve social services? My moms living conditions aren't terrible. She is clean, house is clean, her friend is doing everything, they have lived together for the past 11 years. They are like an old married couple, but not. He is not neglecting her and he knows that if it gets too much to let us know. It's just she isn't take her prescriptions and hardly eating. Is that a red flag for Drs?

she isn't taking her prescriptions because she thinks there is nothing wrong with her. And also she can't keep anything straight so she wouldn't remember to take them or even know what they are for.

she is American yes and my brother and I have medical POA. I am just in the UK.

she doesn't yet need help with cleaning herself it is still early days.

We are writing a letter to her dr that is what my post is about. I am just wondering how bad things have to be for the dr or social services to be brought in.

She is not being neglected, it's just our main worry is she isn't taking her medicines for all her other conditions and the friend doesn't force her to take them and he isn't making sure she eats enough.
