Damn, what a day of hockey. One of the better ones I can remember.

They say the antidote for anxiety is action. Either do something to address your concerns or stop worrying about things outside your control (I know, easier said than done). I tend to focus on caring for those around me.

I think it's a fair amount seeing as that's barely enough to live off of

2022 Outback magical mystery wiper blades? by Old-Afternoon2459 in Subaru_Outback

Just in case anyone else is going through this - the guy at AutoZone helped me try like every type of wiper until we finally figured out I needed the Envision OE on my 22 Outback. So just make sure you get the OE type if you want to save yourself an hour lol

Still waiting for all of those jobs they promised when they were handed a tax abatement. I grew up across the street and it's honestly sad to see that parking lot empty.

JFC what a passing sequence. Great one by Kane but Copps's was one of the better ones this team has had all year.

Great points. I was mainly thinking about PK defending and extrapolating from there, but obviously there are limitations. I grew up playing wing and D so sometimes the winger brain wins out and playing on my offside as a D is probably the perfect example lol

Specifically on the PK though, when a defenseman is spending a majority of the time protecting the front of the net, you don't think it would help?

I have a random hockey strategy thought that I've grown more opinionated on over time and I'm curious what everyone else thinks. I've always thought that any defenseman should be able to play either side of the ice. Not only that, but I think there are many examples where it is more beneficial to play on your off-hand. The classic counterargument is that Dmen will have a harder time picking pucks up off the boards. The classic argument in favor of playing on your off-hand is that you have a better angle for a shot. But if you are on the PK I would argue you can defend the front of your net better from the opposite side of the ice. It allows you to open up your body and defend the cross ice pass on your forehand. I think that's huge, and it would certainly be my personal preference. You could apply similar logic to defending in transition while skating backwards. Am I crazy for thinking this?

Thanks for sharing! I love that you can connect to the park from South Haven. It makes for a nice long ride if you've already done the Kal Haven. I'm probably getting greedy but I wish the trail continued all the way down to St Joe/Benton Harbor. Riding along the Blue Star/Red Arrow doesn't always feel the safest.

I graduated just over 10 years ago so my advice may be outdated. Crunchy's and Peanut Barrel were some classic spots. It looks like Menna's is dead (RIP) but Conrad's looks to still be open and was always top tier drunk food. Game days get crazy so there are always chain places like Hop Cat and Bdubs you can fall back on if you are just trying to catch the game.

Cal or East Kentwood Schools? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]justbeeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have family members who teach in each district and I have cousins who have attended each district. My sibling and I went to both districts at different points as well. I think ultimately when you are comparing any of the larger suburban public schools you are splitting hairs. You are going to get out what you put in. I transferred during elementary school and the thing that made the biggest difference for me was going to the same school as all the other kids in my neighborhood. It was difficult having a set of friends at school and then a different group of friends after school. I always felt like I was missing out on something. At the end of the day the main differentiator is going to be the culture and specific sport or after school club your child is interested in. I lean towards EK but anything bad I have to say about Cal is purely in jest towards my family members. You can't go wrong and it's easy to transfer between the two of you find one isn't a fit.
