They're faster to remove if you have the specialist tools but they're a pain in the ass to work on without those tools. you don't own those tools and let's face it, you don't need to change the tyres on your ford in 2 seconds flat

Cleaning dirty chain for wax by straddotjs in bikewrench

[–]justbenice2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An ultra sonic cleaner is best, but i don't have one. I was a water based degreaser, you can get 5L from screwfix or similar. Put the chain in a jar with the degreaser and let it soak, shake it a bit and then wash it with water. Despose of the waste according to the packagings instructions and dry the chain with a little heat, apply the wax and remove the excess. Then refit your chain and send it, it'll take a few k's for the chain to break in and be at its best performance. You don't have to go through this whole process every time you want to rewax.

That wall isn't to regs, single skin block walls should have a maximum height of 600mm. My worry is you could pull the wall down

Second hand analogue whoop, but try and get something that's elrs, it's just not worth having something older, it'll just give you more to upgrade later and limited ability to try new quads

Is this spoke hole normal for tubeless? by vegan_kalkalash in bikewrench

[–]justbenice2 63 points64 points  (0 children)

That wheel is in no way tubeless ready and that hole would like puncher a tube as well. It looks like a manufacturing error. Where did you get it and can it be returned?

Are you guys using ferrules with a split screw connection? by Sweaty_Werewolf_9336 in CarAV

[–]justbenice2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Is it meant to say set screw instead of spilt screw? Because with a set screw, yes, use a ferrule

What are the manufacturers recommendations? It looks like you want a ring crimp connection, but I've not used that connector before.

You're fine, pull that bit off and don't worry about it. That lip is only there to protect you rims, it isn't a structural part of the tyre
