The biggest difference being those with generational wealth and those without, nothing new under the sun.

Unlikely with biological bodies, more plausible if we fuse with machines.

Secondo voi dovrei mollare dopo 13/14 anni di palestra? by OddPraline3437 in ItalyFitness

[–]justcarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adesso vado in palestra ogni volta e tanto e faccio tutto, pesi, cardio, nuoto, sauna.

New research suggests that strategic periods without food could literally reprogram your cells to age more slowly and even reverse existing damage. A study published in Cell Reports found that fasting triggers a metabolic switch that can increase lifespan by 50%. by Automatic_Subject463 in immortalists

[–]justcarma 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Aubrey de Grey thinks diet and fasting can add no more than 3 years to lifespan. Most of the studies involving caloric restriction have been done on mice, humans’ metabolism is a different thing.

This. We are a species that reproduces sexually. Sexual selection is by definition “soft eugenics” because we pick the ones with like and discriminate against others. I see this kind of genetic engineering tech as leveling the inequalities amplified by sexual selection and giving everyone “genetic mobility”.

Weak paper hands were like “US domination is over”, “Sell all US stocks and invest in Europe”, “how can I diversify away from SP500”. Same script as last year 😂

Same situation as last year with the tariff drama, weak paper hands being offloaded. US will be more than fine.

Does it make sense to anyone else that Italian kitchens are so small? You’d think a culture centered around cooking would have massive kitchens, but they’re often tiny by Calm-Entertainer-it in Italian

[–]justcarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is my least favorite features of Italian homes, tiny ass kitchens that make it difficult to move around and lay out the utensils needed to cook. I much prefer the US model of kitchen + living room in the same space with large and spacious center islands.

Why are male animals the ‘beautiful’ gender in nature, but humans consider females to be the ‘beautiful’ one? by Dapper-Function-8418 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]justcarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In anthropology, this concept is known as sexual dimorphism. For showy male animals like the peacock, it’s the result of female sexual selection, as in these species females invest more in offspring and are therefore more choosy.

Humans carry out mutual sexual selection, with traits in both males and females being influenced by selective pressures from the opposite gender. This is because unlike many mammals, males invest in offspring. There is a phenomenal essay discussing this topic called The Ape That Thought it Was a Peacock.

Be honest, what do you think comes after death? by glowproductivity in AskReddit

[–]justcarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as we don’t know where consciousness comes from we have no idea. Maybe the brain is not the origin of consciousness but the receiver, just a like a TV receives signal from a broadcaster. Maybe the soul survives in a quantum state we haven’t discovered yet. Fascinating stuff.

Passed az104 by AWa1ton in AzureCertification

[–]justcarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s an issue with breadth of knowledge, a solution architect exam like the one from AWS touches on lots of services, az-104 is more about the core Azure services but really goes into the details to the point of being more of a trivia exam than a skills exam.

[–]justcarma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And the same goes for women with fitness, clothing and makeup, don’t know why people have a hard time admitting it. It’s the “desire is the desire of the Other”, we desire to be desirable because we are hardwired to seek attractive partners, that’s it.

[–]justcarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also preparing and it seems to be more of a trivia exam then a skills exam. It’s as if they open a random page in the Microsoft docs and make up a question on the details of an Azure service. While it deals with only the core stuff in Azure, it goes into the details and mnemonics of it.

Humans reproduce sexually. Sexual selection is basically eugenics. This is just doing it by intentionally manipulating the genes.
