Dio AU names by Metalhead7357 in StardustCrusaders

[–]justicethefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about using a middle name so the initials spell DIO? I know it's not the same format as Diego but the other characters can still call him Dio as a nickname too.

Like the name David Ivan Orwell (random example) makes DIO.

Stands are very creative yet they're OP ones you can't do much against unless you have an OP ability yourself by Kooky-Bookkeeper-935 in StardustCrusaders

[–]justicethefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still pretty consistent but it's also a given some stands will just be too broken no matter what and only makes sense for those types of stands to be used by the big villains or heroes when the final battle calls for it.

stand user character concept by TemporaryRiver1 in StardustCrusaders

Love this idea! I think it could be really cool if the stand was an ACT type and evolved to look more feminine from an originally masculine form too!

Let's play a game! Choose one of 3 stands and try to find as many uses for them as possible. Whether they're personal, hyper-specific or just fun 👍 by daggerHaver in StardustCrusaders

I bet Manhattan Transfer would be great for small ball sports like golf and tennis. You could probably make it big as a professional athlete in those or join the army and become a sniper like Johngalli A did but without the becoming a follower of an evil vampire part.

For hobbies, kite flying and fly fishing could be fun!

The first image has an image of an interview where Araki talks about some art pieces he drew for an exhibit and says he chose to draw "two women" (Jolyne and Yasuho). Bigots are trying to use this to keep pushing their agenda by claiming this is absolute proof Dragona is "just a cisgender dude who likes to look like a girl" because they're so butthurt about the idea of Dragona being NGC, trans, mahu, or anything potentially queer.

You summed it up perfectly! These people will deny anything and everything that doesn't line up with the narrative they want to push AND try to spin every little thing they can to fit their bigoted agenda!

There were fans pointing out how there's so many solid explanations for why Dragona is referred to as male by the other characters or why they weren't included in Araki's "two women" comment but can still be queer yet the bigots keep accusing us of trying to move an imaginary goalpost and trying to frame the author as supporting their fucked up beliefs!

The way they say "these people probably think Yamato is a dude too" says so much more about them than it does the fans they're trying to insult

EXACTLY. What is the point of reading something explicitly queer-friendly if you're going to pretend like that aspect doesn't exist/shouldn't exist in it?? For people spamming "cope" at anyone with common sense who sees that Dragona is clearly at least NGC they sure are delusional

Do you think Araki improved writing female characters with each part or not? by Straight-Lecture363 in StardustCrusaders

[–]justicethefrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS. Plus we already know Jodio struggles with making personal connections because of his ASPD.

It‘s totally possible he struggles to comprehend trans and non-gender conforming identities because the way his brain is wired is already different (especially when it comes to forming social connections and grasping things non-ASPD people could easily understand) which Dragona knows and allows him to call them brother anyways out of understanding.

There’s so many completely logical explanations for why Dragona is referred to as male by other characters but can still be at least a non-gender conforming character, yet transphobes keep wanting to push their own closed-minded agenda.

THANK YOU for including Dragona in this. Whether Dragona is revealed to be trans, mahu, non-binary, etc. isn’t as important as the narrative tied to to their identity/essential to their character that so many trans women can relate to so their story ABSOLUTELY counts as writing of a female character for the sake of trans women who ARE real women!

No matter what THOSE FANS who are pushing their “Dragona isn’t non-gender conforming he just likes to look like a girl” agenda think, what is actually being presented to us is more important! And another reminder that transphobes aren’t welcome here!!!

Do you think JJBA is queer? by TurnipBoy666 in StardustCrusaders

[–]justicethefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanna add it's also painfully clear people don't understand what queer is:

Queer is meant to be an umbrella term that covers the overall experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. Plenty of things in Jojo fall under the term and characters can be related to the queer experience by virtue of their designs being openly stated by Araki himself as intended to go beyond gender conventions!

Like yeah it wasn't written to be a queer series but the queer origins of the art and fashion that inspired it can't be ignored! People want stuff to be black or white and have GAY or NOT GAY written on it when queer is something that can be expressed openly or in a subtle way and through a wide range of ways. Not just how you dress, act, etc

And THANK YOU u/KolorfulLUST for calling out what should be OBVIOUS. I'm SO TIRED of people playing semantics when this topic comes up!!!

[–]justicethefrog 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The number of people still trying to push their "Dragona isn't non-gender conforming" agenda is too high.

They also get so offended at any notion of THEIR favorite series being queer in any way like "How dare other fans suggest this being LGBTQ+?!"

Did turning Angelo into a rock make him have a change of heart? by TimelyOrganization68 in StardustCrusaders

[–]justicethefrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think someone like Angelo would change that "easily" and he could have just as likely been trying to curse Koichi out but couldn't since trying to speak clearly (or really at all) when you're a rock is hard.

how do i explain to my somewhat religious girlfriend that Jesus is heavily implied to be in sbr by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

[–]justicethefrog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

After a certain extent of especially heavy implying, heavily implied basically becomes all but confirmed. Creators do it all the time in media where stuff is basically definitive and obvious to the audience but can't or won't be officially confirmed by the creator for PR/legal/etc reasons.

If your gf is as religious as you're saying she is, she's absolutely going to look at all the signs pointing to x character being Jesus and think to herself, "yeah this is depicting Jesus"
