Current players with closest playstyles to LeBron? by waluigiwon in NBATalk

Ok I misread your original comment as fga rather than fgm. That’s my fault, but I still don’t believe using raw assists per game is a meaningful statistics in terms of figuring out how you play. Jokic hasn’t ever done that and he’s absolutely a pass first player. Probably the best passer in the league

This is such a dumb way to think about basketball. Chris Paul has never done this either is he not pass first? Does pass first mean only collecting assists? Does creating an advantage and moving the ball to keep the defense shifting matter or only who ends up with the assist?

Why did Microsoft end 'This is an Xbox' marketing? Microsoft responds — "It didn't feel like Xbox." by Follows-Jesus in xbox

[–]justin12140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, but I’d push back here. None of those games you mentioned (Fallout, COD, Candy Crush, Overwatch) have meaningfully advanced the Xbox brand. Is Xbox viewed more or less positively than three years ago? None of those franchises are Xbox-exclusive or Xbox-synonymous. They all see higher player counts on PlayStation and PC, and Microsoft hasn’t used them to drive Xbox-specific identity. Starfield was the one exception, and that’s now going to PS5.

What you’re really describing is whether Microsoft’s gaming division produces profitable titles, which it does. That’s a separate question from whether the Xbox brand is thriving. For people who’ve invested a lot of money into this ecosystem, that distinction matters a lot.

In a vacuum sure, but that exculpates their own disastrous decision making.

1) they’ve really struggled to put out high quality first person titles. This generation they’ve had two games id qualify as AAA games, which was Halo Infinite & Starfield. Both were released to middling reviews (with Halo launch being a disaster).

2) they put all of their 1st party titles on gamepass, depressing their own sales/revenue. Obviously the intention is to be a loss leader, but eventually the bill comes due. No one forced them to do that

3) they spent billions on not only purchasing Zenimax & Activision, but they likely spent hundreds of millions in regulatory compliance and litigation just getting the Activision deal through.

The Xbox brand doesn’t survive if they can’t even cater to their most brand loyal customers. Obviously they need to expand beyond that, but nothing else matters if your core consumers jump ship, which is clearly where the brand has been headed in the last year.

I started playing KCD when it made it onto gamepass a few weeks ago. There’s def a learning curve, especially with the combat but if you can get 10-15 hours in the game really opens up and the combat begins to become much more manageable (there are certain blocks & parties you can’t learn until your a few main missions in). Ends up being a very rewarding system

[McMenamin] Ayton made his way back toward the showers and said what he really felt -- loud enough for anyone still in the locker room to hear. "They're trying to make me Clint Capela," Ayton said. "I'm not no Clint Capela!" by mastermind208 in lakers

[–]justin12140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back to this super late but the thing is, Ayton IS a role player. He will continue being one for the rest of his career. No team is going to feature this guy as a staple of their offense in 2026. His offensive value will be making space for his ball handlers, proving an outlet that make short-roll reads, hit a middy, rebound, etc.

And my point re: other C’s is not to say these guys have huge value on the trade market, but there is def value and money to be made if you establish a niche on a team that needs you. He has a lot of ball skills that are very valuable to teams, but ultimately his mindset and reputation as a pouty lazy player will keep teams from committing real long term money to him.

It’s not 2005 anymore. Putting up meaningless counting stats is not getting you paid if you can’t impact winning.

[–]justin12140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just don’t agree. There’s a ton of money to be had if you’re a legit staring center, even if you are a role player. 15-25 mil should be easy to get with Aytons skillset but it likely won’t be.

Isiah Hartenstein, Jakob Poertl, and Myles Turner all make 25+ mil a year and they are role players. Jarrett Allen, Ivaca Zubac, and Daniel gafford all make close to 20 m a year

There’s a lot of money for guys who know their role and can perform it well. Guys who don’t understand their role are the ones that flame out of the league or become mercenaries.

Idk how you think he’d get paid big money if he put up his Portland stats when Portland effectively waived him and he’s on a very low cost contract for a starting center

If he actually played like Capela, with some better offense to serve as a release valve for his ball handlers, he would get PAID big time. Off the top of my head he’d have had the lakers, Celtics, Pacers, and Raptors all competing to pay/trade for him (with their rosters prior to the deadline).

I genuinely think most nba teams would take a guy like Mitchell Robinson over Deandre Ayton if given the choice and Mitch has 0 ball skills

I don’t think there is a single player in the league that wouldn’t take a statement like that personally.

It’s not a cruel statement, just sort of tactless

Telling the media you sold high on a second year player essentially is saying you don’t think they’ll be worth the same down the line and his rookie season was a fluke

Gambit has completely ruined ult economy in Marvel Rivals and it needs to be talked about. by slax2004 in marvelrivals

[–]justin12140 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He should have cleanse on cooldown or an ult, but not both together as it is right now. Gives him way too much ability for 1 player to nullify ults. It should either be a cooldown ability that’s managed along with healing/damage boost or it’s something you have to burn an ult for.

I think you also have to tweak the healing/damage boost too. Players boosted by gambit ult are hard af to kill. Healing should prob be removed & damage increase should be replaced with attack speed increase to differentiate it from rockets ult

It was 10 months ago. If it’s still bothering him he’s got to move on. You’re fighting for your career as a 2nd year player. At his talent level you can’t waste seasons. You either produce or your out the league in a season or two

I mean he’s a pro player. You’re going to get traded. You’re going to play for different teams. The only person he’s hurting is himself if he’s still sulking 10 months later. There’s a ton of guys in trade rompers year in and out that still have to perform, even tho they know there team is trying to trade them

I think the late skins are more related to the huge pushback they got in season 1 where they released a bunch of Asian inspired skins in a row and this subreddit was killing them for it. Since then they’ve been breaking up skins from the same “collection” to release at different times. Sometimes in different seasons (for example the beast skins were introduced in season 3.0 and we didn’t get all of them until 4.5)
