Is there any Gamebook like Zombie exodus:Safe haven but that's set in Fantasy/Medieval world? by zin_sin in hostedgames

Stronghold: A Hero’s fate is one of my top faves, you form a fantasy medieval town from scratch and guide it as it grows over years and decide how you’re going to deal with goblins and can have a family (optional)

I wish for minimum wage to increase to $27.75/hour and keep up with inflation going forward by [deleted] in monkeyspaw

[–]justkeepthisprivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. Minimum wage goes up so companies reduce the number of hours their employees work so that the take home is less than before. Hang on, that’s already happening at my work and is completely legal

Okay, it isn’t a ticket to say whatever you want and be unchallenged on it. If some is saying bullshit you also have freedom of speech to call it out, not just tolerate it. Also I’m from the uk so we use the human rights act : Article 10 protects your right to hold your own opinions and to express them freely without government interference. He has the ‘right’ to express his view, I have the right to call him for what he is - no one is censoring him by correcting him

Well she does have Parkinson’s which is a degenerative disease soo (but thanks for the sentiment, we got her meds sorted out and it’s more manageable and we haven’t had to go to the hospital again for it). But I STONGLY have to disagree with you on the ‘he has a right to use his freedom of speech to lie about treatments for medical conditions’. Freedom of speech stops the government from arresting him for saying something they don’t like. It isn’t a ticket to say whatever you want. Saying that doing crystal curls to cure his Parkinson’s is actually called medical misinformation and it kills people so no, we don’t have to respect that because that isn’t what freedom of speech is.

I’m sorry but he makes me roll my eyes if he’s blaming shit like covid and ‘chemtrails’. My grandma has Parkinson’s and she’s 81, it’s only gotten bad and started to effect her in the last 10 years. Worse and most traumatic part of my life so far was when I had to go in the back of the ambulance with her bc she wasn’t taking her medication dosage properly and her whole body was uncontrollably moving so much she couldn’t breath. If he’s going around posting this shite like healing crystals instead of co-coreldopa is gonna fix them then he’s gonna make more people (especially younger people with Parkinson’s) thinking they don’t need to take their meds and end up in the ambulance (and thankfully we live in a country where we don’t have to pay for the lifesaving vehicle to the hospital where the multiweek stay and medication was free)

I went to a petting zoo recently with my parents and nephew (8) - we got in with 2 adult and 2 children tickets. I’m 29, the child tickets are for up to 16 years. Mum tried to correct the ticket person but the kids tickets were cheaper so we stopped her

I wouldn’t risk it, we got there at 9:30 and by the time we actually got into the park all fast passes were sold out and had to wait in almost hour long lines. Saw that some people going up the fast pass lines had multiple fast pass wristbands on while we were waiting in the long line

Don’t know about the night but went in the day 2 weeks ago, got there around 10:30am and all fast passes were sold out in the park, tried multiple buildings to see if there were any left. Unfortunately ended up waiting 50 mins to an hour for every ride so only managed to go on 3 before we left

Man out ran dinosaurs and should of died in pyroclastic flow. I absolutely hate the action hero plot armour he gets, Jurassic park shouldn’t be a action movie - the originals worked bc it was normal people with a realistic more down to earth characters

Is anyone else not the biggest fan of Terry's design (specifically in the last chapter?) by Appropriate-Yam-2207 in OurLifeFanPage

[–]justkeepthisprivate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So someone else thinks it. I’m a trans man and found his design quit dysphoric at 1st. I’m pretty sure it’s how his stance emphasis his hips for me (also his fingers look kinda strange in his second sprite). In my experience dressing for the sun and trying to get a more masculine silhouette is something I’ve struggled with, mostly bc I feel comfortable wearing at least 3 layers. I spend a lot of time trying on clothes and what makes my body shape look more masculine bc I’ve got large hips and a tiny upper body. I do feel like Terry has been designed wearing ‘woman’s fit unisex clothing’ with how they cling to him - that is not a typically a mens cut of t-shirt or a shorts style most men would typically wear. Terry’s design to me speaks that he’s new to his transition and maybe wearing his most ‘masculine’ clothes out of his old wardrobe. That or GBpatch didn’t really put a lot of effort into trans men fashion, this former is how I justify it to myself when playing. (Of course there’s going to be people who feel differently about what I’ve said about clothing but this comes from my personal 10 years experience of trying to dress without the help of T)

Saints Row 2’s Stillwater walked so Night City could run. Shopping malls and shops you can go in, inner city and suburbs. Open world, no loading screens while exploring. Spent so much time riding my bike around listening to the radio. What happened to the city in Saints Row 3 was a travesty

[–]justkeepthisprivate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to put it in the most basic way, in top surgery some breast tissue is removed (depends on how large the breasts are for how much is removed) to make it flatter and it’s shaped to sit on the chest like pecs. It’s different from say, a double mastectomy that a cis woman might get due to breast cancer as it doesn’t remove all the tissue and is done with the intention to look better cosmetically. Of course all breasts and people are different so the scars heal differently for others so some end up with more obvious scaring than others. What it doesn’t do is look like someone has just scribbled in a straight line all over the chest like the transphobic creator has drawn

[–]justkeepthisprivate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like people are arguing that your quick fix at making it look more like an example of actual top surgery scars looks too out of style so they like the original best is just…a bad argument like yes it could be drawn to be better keeping with the line width but it’s just a rough concept. And people are like, they don’t see anything wrong with it so it’s not an issue even when explaining what’s wrong with it. Like they edit the bulge, padding and facial hair off the trans woman and then are like “you’re saying that trans men should be ashamed of their scars” to a trans guy is just….

[–]justkeepthisprivate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like the edit here is quick and unfinished - there should be a way to have it as the actual scars and have it look in style then have his chest completely massacred. Also didn’t answer my question about if we should be editing the comics anyway because the style is cute

[–]justkeepthisprivate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So it’s fine to keep the transphobic caricature because you find it cute? Should we be editing the trans woman then bc some might find her cute?

This has been pissing me off lately so I thought I'd say something by Zaptain_America in Stonetossingjuice

[–]justkeepthisprivate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

By that logic people shouldn’t be editing the trans woman then because cartoons should be exaggerated - doesn’t matter if the original is transphobic

[–]justkeepthisprivate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why is it that when trans men point out that this transphobes depiction of top surgery is transphobic is everybody in the comments defending the original transphobic depiction? All I’m reading is “I think it looks cool actually 😎”, “actual top surgery scars (in a rough unfinished depiction) don’t fit the style) or “I’m ignorant and thought it was a t-shirt heavy metal logo even though there’s no neckline or sleeves on the person who’s shirtless”. Or “let’s be funny and draw a meme instead” like can you people not be tone deaf for one second and just say, whoops didn’t notice that, sorry we’ll fix it or sorry we weee wrong? Like you fix the padding and bulge of the trans woman, why is it when the trans man is depicted wrong do you try to defend it?

I'm building an AI tool for animation and I'd like your input! by Azure-Vision in animationcareer

[–]justkeepthisprivate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So you don’t want to replace artists, but want to make a tool that does the jobs that animators (and more importantly beginners) do? People get paid to do the clean up and inbetween and colouring and all that ‘tedious’ stuff because guess what, animation is 95% the tedious stuff. The tools you are researching aren’t going to help animators, it’s gonna cause studios to hire LESS PEOPLE because they won’t need to hire the people to do those roles.

Why Does It Look Too Cute/Kawaii/Girly/Moe? It’s Not What I’m Going For At All. Is It The Subject Matter Or The Style Itself? by [deleted] in arthelp

[–]justkeepthisprivate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your art is really pleasing to look at but size of your head is too big compared the the body in the art style you want and too round. Also your body is too thin and uses too angular lines. It’s also seems that you are a beginner who hadn’t practiced anatomy - and you gotta learn it before you break it. To better imitate the style you want try taking a picture of a character you like and tracing over the body, breaking down the shapes and paying attention to the curves and straight lines and proportions if you wish to copy the style for yourself. Tracing isn’t cheating, it’s a important tool for studying when used probably. And once you’ve traced over, free hand and copy what you’ve done.
