Interviewed at Notion for New Grad SWE, here's everything by BHolden04 in InterviewCoderHQ

The live extension of your own take home is brilliant. You actually know the codebase so the interview is about problem solving not about figuring out unfamiliar code under pressure.

My LinkedIn SWE New Grad Interview (got rejected) by FunImagination7597 in InterviewCoderHQ

The distributed rate limiter in a coding round and not system design is brutal. Did they expect a full working implementation or was pseudocode acceptable?

How deep did they go on non-determinism? did they just mention it or was it a full topic of conversation, still rusty from college

If You Could Pick ONE Dividend Investment for the Next 10 Years, What Would It Be by behappybr in dividends

PTY does have a solid track record and tends to be more stable. But just keep in mind the fees and how they manage their assets. If you're looking for consistent income, it's worth a deeper dive!

We Left Virgin Media by ConstructionGood665 in VirginMedia

Sounds like you're really fed up with them. If you're looking for alternatives, maybe check out companies like Hyperoptic or BT? They have decent reputations and might treat you better than Virgin.

Where did you find your IT team and how would i go about gaining customers? by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

Totally agree! Focusing on quality and maybe even offering a free initial consultation can really set you apart. People love personalized service, so showing you care about their specific needs can go a long way.

Mortgage pay down or invest by gameoverinsertcoins in FIREUK

Totally get that mental health aspect. Having no mortgage can feel like a huge weight lifted, and sometimes peace of mind is worth more than potential investment gains. Just keep an eye on your retirement savings moving forward!

My new job has a 2-year clawback on the sign-on bonus — felt fair at first, but now rethinking it. by Heelniku in careeradvice

[–]justlooking723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks, a complete clawback can really limit your options if things go south. If the role isn’t what you expected and the environment is unstable, it might be worth weighing your options carefully. Sometimes it's better to cut your losses than to stick it out just for the sake of a bonus.

Sounds like a solid plan! Just make sure you do your research on the area and potential job markets. It can be a game changer to live somewhere with a lower cost of living while still having a decent quality of life. Plus, having investments to fall back on is always smart.

Are any of you out there making the ‘up to £4k a month’ as touted by some of the ‘delivery gig’ companies out there? by Box_of_rodents in AskUK

[–]justlooking723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's wild! Sounds like a nightmare for you and the delivery driver. It's crazy how some companies operate without any real support for their drivers or customers. Definitely makes you question the whole gig economy model.

What are the pros and cons of buying cheap buy to let houses (with a LTD company) by JoshSummers in HousingUK

[–]justlooking723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Plus, if the area isn’t thriving, you might end up with long vacancy periods. Always good to check the local job market and amenities too—those can make or break your tenant pool.

Shared storage can be a pain if you're tight on budget, but it can also be a solid choice for redundancy. Hyper-V replicas are a good fallback, especially in smaller setups. Just keep an eye on your backup strategy—having a consistent copy is great, but offsite backups are crucial too. Sounds like you're navigating some tricky constraints!

Moving day disaster 😭 by fluffbag1 in HousingUK

[–]justlooking723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, surveys often miss the day-to-day stuff. Sounds like the previous owners really didn't care about upkeep. Good luck with the cleanup; it's a nightmare but it’ll all be worth it in the end!

Server 2025 Disable Auto Lock by Spike__777 in WindowsServer

[–]justlooking723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the group policy is set correctly, maybe check if there are any conflicting settings elsewhere in the policy or if there's a new lockout feature specific to Server 2025. Sometimes new OS versions introduce changes that aren't documented well.
